Abstract

We consider the interaction of a qubit system with a two-mode field in the presence of multi-photon transition and phase damping effect. We use the master equation to obtain the density operator when the qubit is initially prepared in its excited state and the field is in a finite-dimensional pair coherent state. The properties of the considered system, such as the population inversion, amount of the mixedness, parameter estimation, and squeezing, are explored for one- and two-photon transitions. The effects of photon addition to the field and phase damping on the evaluation of these quantumness measures are also investigated.

ENTANGLEMENT FOR JAYNES CUMMINGS MODEL IN THE PRESENCE MULTI-PHOTON PROCESS UNDER DECOHERENCE EFFECT

S. Abdel‐Khalek, Mohammed Almalki

The quantum nonlocal correlation between an atom and coherent field is described quantitatively in terms of multi-photon and phase damping processes. Especially, considering a two-level atom interacts with a single-mode quantized field in a coherent state inside a phase-damped cavity, and taking into account the number of multi-photon transitions and phase damping effect, the entanglement is investigated during the time evolution as a function of involved' parameters in the system. The results show that the enhancement of the transitions are very useful in generating a high amount of entanglement. Due to the significance of how a system is quantum correlated with its environment in the construction of a scalable quantum computer, the entanglement dynamics between the bipartite system with its environment is evaluated and investigated during the dissipative process. Finally, the physical interpretation of the correlation behaviors between the subsystems is explained through the statistical properties of the field.

Quantum Control of the Time-Dependent Interaction between a Three-Level $Ξ$-Type Atom and a Two-Mode Field with Damping Term

Sameh T. Korashy

The purpose of this paper is to investigate some properties through a three-level $Ξ$-type atom interacting with a two-mode field. We test this system in the presence of the photon assisted atomic phase damping, detuning parameter and Kerr nonlinearity. Also, the coupling parameter modulated to be time-dependent. The problem solution of this model is given by using the Schrődinger equation when the atom and the field are initially prepared in the excited state and coherent state, respectively. We used the results to calculate some aspects such as atomic population inversion and concurrence. The results show that the time-dependent coupling parameter and the detuning parameter can be considered as a quantum control parameters of the atomic population inversion and quantum entanglement in the considered model.

ENTROPY GROWTH INDUCED BY A SQUEEZED FIELD WITH A PHASE-DAMPING RESERVOIR

A.‐S. F. Obada, H. A. Hessian, A.‐B. A. Mohamed

A system of a two level atom interacting with a multi-photon single mode of electromagnetic field and damped with a phase reservoir is considered. The squeezed coherent state is taken as initial field state. The exact solution of the master equation in the case of a high-Q cavity is found. The effects of phase damping on the temporal evolution of some quantitative entanglement measures between the states of the system are investigated.

Dephasing of two interacting qubits under the influence of thermal reservoirs

Masashi Ban

A phase relaxation process of interacting two qubits is studied by means of the quantum master equation, where each qubit is influenced by an independent thermal reservoir. The damping operator of the quantum master equation consists of two parts; one includes the effects of the interaction between the qubits and the other does not. It is shown that the interaction significantly affects the phase relaxation process. The decoherence of entanglement is investigated for the two qubits initially prepared in the $X$ state.

Interactions of a two-level atom with one mode of correlated two-mode field states

Christopher C. Gerry, Ronald F. Welch

We study the interaction of two-level atoms with correlated two-mode states of the quantized electromagnetic field. We assume that only one of the modes is near resonance with the atomic transition so that the second mode does not interact directly with the atom. However, we find that the presence of the second field does produce a kind of nonlocal effect in that if the atom is initially in the excited or the ground state no atomic dipole moment develops. We consider two kinds of correlated field state, namely, the correlated SU(1, 1) coherent states, which are generalizations of the two-mode squeezed vacuum states, and the so-called pair coherent states. We study the atomic inversions and the evolutions of the field statistics and of the squeezing properties of the initial field.

Nonlinear Dynamics of a Cavity Containing a Two-Mode Coherent Field Interacting with Two-Level Atomic Systems

Eied Mahmoud Khalil, Hashim M. Alshehri, A.‐B. A. Mohamed +2 more

This study analytically explored two coupled two-level atomic systems (TLAS) as two qubits interacting with two modes of an electromagnetic field (EMF) cavity via two-photon transitions in the presence of dipole–dipole interactions between the atoms and intrinsic damping. Using special unitary su(1,1) Lie algebra, the general solution of an intrinsic noise model is obtained when an EMF is initially in a generalized coherent state. We investigated the population inversion of two TLAS and the generated quantum coherence of some partitions (including the EMF, two TLAS, and TLAS–EMF). It is possible to generate quantum coherence (mixedness and entanglement) from the initial pure state. The robustness of the quantum coherence produced and the sudden appearance and disappearance of coherence depended not only on dipole–dipole coupling but also on the intrinsic noise rate. The growth of mixedness and entanglement may be enhanced by increasing dipole–dipole coupling, leading to more robustness against intrinsic noise.
