Abstract

In this study, it is intended to show an alternative method to derive the wave function of a single electron as solutions of the Schrodinger equation. The Nikiforov-Uvarov method was chosen to be utilized since this method can solve the Schrodinger equation with several well-known potentials in the non-relativistic mechanics of quantum. The obtained results of this study have succeed to explain the wave function and the energy eigenvalue for a single electron as lectured in quantum physics textbooks. These results prove that the Nikiforov-Uvarov method provides an alternative procedure to solve the Schrodinger equation.

Exact solutions of the Schrödinger equation with non-central potential by the Nikiforov–Uvarov method

F Yaşuk, C Berkdemir, A Berkdemir

The general solutions of the Schrödinger equation for a non-central potential are obtained by using the Nikiforov–Uvarov method. The Schrödinger equation with general non-central potential is separated into radial and angular parts, and energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are derived analytically. By making special selections, the non-central potential is reduced to Coulomb and Hartmann ring-shaped potentials, and the obtained results are compared with the solutions of Coulomb and Hartmann potentials given in the literature.

A new approach to the exact solutions of the effective mass Schrödinger equation

C. Tezcan, R. Sever

Effective mass Schrödinger equation is solved exactly for a given potential. Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used to obtain energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave functions. A free parameter is used in the transformation of the wave function. The effective mass Schrödinger equation is also solved for the Morse potential transforming to the constant mass Schrödinger equation for a potential. One can also get solution of the effective mass Schrödinger equation starting from the constant mass Schrödinger equation. Exact solution of Schrödinger equation with q -deformed quantum potentials using Nikiforov—Uvarov method

B. J. Falaye, K. J. Oyewumi, M. Abbas

In this paper, we present the exact solution of the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation for the q -deformed quantum potentials via the Nikiforov—Uvarov method. The eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of these potentials are obtained via this method. The energy equations and the corresponding wave functions for some special cases of these potentials are briefly discussed. The PT-symmetry and Hermiticity for these potentials are also discussed.
