Abstract

Considering a system comprised of two-level atoms resonantly interacting with weak coherent states trapped in two distant cavities connected by an optical fiber initially, we study the entanglement properties of the atom-atom, the cavity-cavity and the atom-cavity. Then the influences of the ratio between fiber-cavity and atom-cavity coupling intensity, the intensity and the phase of the cavity field on the entanglement properties are investigated numerically. It is shown that the entanglements of the atom-atom, the cavity-cavity and the atom-cavity vary with time in the periodical or approximately periodical manner; the entanglement can be transferred from cavity-cavity to atom-atom reciprocally. Compared with the entanglements of atom-atom and cavity-cavity, the varying period of atom-cavity entanglement is short. The ratio of fiber-cavity coupling intensity to atom-cavity coupling intensity and the phase of cavity field affect the entanglement properties greatly. The great entanglement can be achieved by using a smaller ratio of coupling intensity between fiber-cavity and atom-cavity.

The Entanglement Properties in the System of Three Atoms Trapped in Two Distant Cavities Connected by An Optical Fiber

WU Dao-yong

Three two-level atoms are trapped in two initially empty cavities that are connected by an optical fiber. We investigate the entanglement evolution between two atoms in the same cavity and the entanglement evolution between two cavities. We discuss the influences of the state-selective measurement on the entanglement and that of fiber-cavity coupling coefficient on the entanglement. The obtained results show that atom-atom entanglement property has a nonlinear relation with increasing of the cavity-fiber coupling coefficient, and cavity-cavity entanglement property is weakened with increasing of the cavity-fiber coupling coefficient. On the other hand, the results also show that the entanglement between two cavities and that between two atoms can be strengthened through the state-selective measurement on the atom.

Entanglement properties in the system of atoms interacting with three coupled cavities which are in weak coherent states

LU Dao-ming

We study the entanglement dynamics of the system comprising three two-level atoms resonantly interacting with three coupled cavities which are in weak coherent states initially. The atom-atom entanglement and cavity-cavity entanglement are investigated. The influences of coupling constant between cavities and intensity of the cavity field on entanglement properties are discussed. The results obtained using the numerical method show that atom-atom entanglement and cavity-cavity entanglement are both strengthened with the increase of intensity of the cavity field; on the other hand, atom-atom entanglement is weakened and the entanglement between cavity A and cavity B is strengthened with the increase of the coupling constant between cavities, and the entanglement between cavity B and cavity C has a nonlinear relation with the increase of the cavity-cavity coupling coefficient. These results are different from those in the case that cavity field is in vacuum state initially.

The entanglement properties in the system composed of a -type atom and a V-type atom trapped in two distant cavities connected by an optical fiber

LU Dao-ming

We consider a system consisting of a -type atom and a V-type atom, which are individually trapped in two spatially separated cavities that are connected by an optical fiber. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given. We investigate the temporal evolution in the entanglement between atoms and that between cavities. We discuss the influence of cavity-fiber coupling coefficient on entanglement. The results obtained by the numerical method show that the entanglement between atoms and the entanglement between cavities have the same evolution regularities. On the other hand, the entanglement between atoms and that between cavities are strengthened with the increase of cavity-fiber coupling coefficient.

Tripartite entanglement properties of coupled three atoms in cavity quantum electrodynamics

LU Dao-ming

In this paper we consider the case that three identical two-level atoms are trapped in a single-mode cavity which is in a weak coherent state initially, and there is an interaction between two atoms. The tripartite entanglement dynamics among atoms is studied. The influences of atom-atom coupling constant and intensity of the cavity field on the tripartite entanglement among atoms are discussed. The results obtained using the numerical method show that the tripartite entanglement among atoms is strengthened with the increase of intensity of the cavity field; on the other hand, it is weakened with the increase of the coupling constant between atoms.

Controlling Entanglement Dynamics by Choosing Appropriate Ratio between Cavity-Fiber Coupling and Atom-Cavity Coupling

Liao Chang-Geng, Yang Zhen-Biao, Chen Zi-Hong +1 more

The entanglement characteristics including the so-called sudden death effect between two identical two-level atoms trapped in two separate cavities connected by an optical fiber are studied. The results show that the time evolution of entanglement is sensitive not only to the degree of entanglement of the initial state but also to the ratio between cavity-fiber coupling ( v ) and atom-cavity coupling ( g ). This means that the entanglement dynamics can be controlled by choosing specific v and g .

Entanglement dynamics between a pair of two-level atoms and cavity fields connected by an optical fiber

Sayed Ali Sina Musavi

In this study, we theoretically investigate a system composed of two isolated two-level atoms, each confined within an independent single-mode optical cavity. The cavities are coherently coupled via an optical fiber, enabling photon-mediated interaction between the two subsystems. Each cavity sustains a single-mode quantized electromagnetic field, and each atom couples exclusively to the field within its respective cavity. We analyze the time dependent entanglement dynamics, exploring both atom-atom and cavity-field bipartite entanglement under this hybrid interaction framework. To quantify entanglement, we employ concurrence as the measurement metric. The effects of the atoms' initial states and the optical fiber’s coupling strength on both atom-atom and field-field entanglement are analyzed. Numerical results reveal that when the coupling strength of the optical fiber is close to zero, no entanglement is observed between either the atoms or the fields. However, as the fiber coupling strength increases, entanglement emerges and exhibits collapse and revival behavior over time.
