Abstract

We propose a scheme for generating a genuine -type four-particle entangled state of superconducting artificial atoms with broken symmetry by using one-dimensional transmission line resonator as a data bus. With the help of the Circuit quantum electrodynamics system composed of -type three-level artificial atoms and transmission line resonator, our scheme also has long coherence time and storage time. Meanwhile, the -type three-level artificial atom used in the scheme is different from natural atom and has cyclic transitions. Furthermore, our scheme is easy to control and flexible. Through a suitable choice of the Rabi frequencies and detunings of the classical fields, we can use this system to implement the selective coupling between two arbitrary qubits. After suitable interaction time and simple operations, the desired entangled state can be obtained. Since artificial atomic excited states and photonic states are adiabatically eliminated, our scheme is robust against the spontaneous emissions of artificial atoms and the decays of transmission line resonator. We also analyze the performance and the experimental feasibility of the scheme, and show that our scheme is feasible under existing experimental conditions.

Controllable generation of two-mode-entangled states in two-resonator circuit QED with a single gap-tunable superconducting qubit

Sheng-li Ma, Zhen Li, Aiping Fang +3 more

We study controllable generation of two-mode-entangled states in a circuit QED setup, which consists of two spatially separated superconducting transmission line resonators and a single gap-tunable superconducting qubit. Two sharp coupling sidebands are induced when the artificial atom is suitably driven by a bichromatic microwave field. The two resonators can have squeezing-type interactions with the qubit via the coupling sidebands. If the two resonators are not degenerate, we show that the two resonators can be cooled down into the two-mode squeezed vacuum via dissipation of the qubit. The generation of the two-mode squeezed state is based on a dissipative state-engineering process, which explores the energy relaxation of the qubit as a resource. Moreover, the scheme does not need both the specific preparation of the initial state and the designed special dynamical process of the system. If the resonators are degenerate, we show that entangled coherent states of the resonators can be generated by use of the unitary dynamical evolution process of the system and the state-projection measurement. Moreover, macro entangled coherent states of the resonators with huge photons can in principle be created if the resonators and the qubit have sufficiently long lifetimes. The present scheme has two remarkable features: (1) only a single qubit is used in the generation of the two-mode squeezed state; and (2) the ultrastrong coupling condition and initializing the resonators in coherent states are not required. These make the present scheme more simple and feasible in experimental implementation.

Efficient Entanglement Generation of Two Superconducting Qubits in a Circuit QED

Run‐Ying Yan, Zhi‐Bo Feng

Abstract The optimal generation of entangled states is of significance to information processing and state engineering. Here, an efficient scheme is proposed for creating entangled states between two superconducting qubits in a circuit quantum electrodynamics (QED). The two qubits that resonantly interact with a common cavity mode of transmission‐line resonator (TLR) can be effectively coupled by the data bus of the microwave resonator. By the invariant‐based shortcuts to adiabaticity (STA), two types of maximally entangled states can be controllably induced only by adjusting the Rabi drivings. Based on the resonant drivings with constant rates, the shortcut strategy is capable of implementing faster operations when compared with the dispersive approach. The fidelities are highly robust against the decoherence effects and the instabilities of Rabi rates. Thus the proposal could offer a potential route toward the entanglement generations in an optimized manner.

We propose a simple scheme to generate χ-type four-charge entangled states by using SQUID-based charge qubits capacitively coupled to a transmission line resonator (TLR). The coupling between the superconducting qubit and the TLR can be effectively controlled by properly adjusting the control parameters of the charge qubit. The experimental feasibility of our scheme is also shown.

Multi-qubit phase gate on multiple resonators mediated by a superconducting bus

Jin‐Xuan Han, Jin‐Lei Wu, Yan Wang +3 more

We propose a one-step scheme for implementing multi-qubit phase gates on microwave photons in multiple resonators mediated by a superconducting bus in circuit quantum electrodynamics (QED) system. In the scheme, multiple single-mode resonators carry quantum information with their vacuum and single-photon Fock states, and a multi-level artificial atom acts as a quantum bus which induces the indirect interaction among resonators. The method of pulse engineering is used to shape the coupling strength between resonators and the bus so as to improve the fidelity and robustness of the scheme. We also discuss the influence of finite coherence time for the bus and resonators on gate fidelity respectively. Finally, we consider the suppression of unwanted transitions and propose the method of optimized detuning compensation for offsetting unwanted transitions, showing the feasibility of the scheme within the current experiment technology.
