Abstract

We propose a scheme for generating a genuine $χ$-type four-particle entangled state of superconducting artificial atoms with broken symmetry by using one-dimensional transmission line resonator as a data bus. The $Δ$-type three-level artificial atom we use in the scheme is different from natural atom and has cyclic transitions. After suitable interaction time and simple operations, the desired entangled state can be obtained. Since artificial atomic excited states and photonic states are adiabatically eliminated, our scheme is robust against the spontaneous emissions of artificial atoms and the decays of transmission line resonator.

The -type four-particle entangled state generated by using superconducting artificial atoms with broken symmetry

Leng Chun-Ling, Ying-Qiao Zhang, Xin Ji

We propose a scheme for generating a genuine -type four-particle entangled state of superconducting artificial atoms with broken symmetry by using one-dimensional transmission line resonator as a data bus. With the help of the Circuit quantum electrodynamics system composed of -type three-level artificial atoms and transmission line resonator, our scheme also has long coherence time and storage time. Meanwhile, the -type three-level artificial atom used in the scheme is different from natural atom and has cyclic transitions. Furthermore, our scheme is easy to control and flexible. Through a suitable choice of the Rabi frequencies and detunings of the classical fields, we can use this system to implement the selective coupling between two arbitrary qubits. After suitable interaction time and simple operations, the desired entangled state can be obtained. Since artificial atomic excited states and photonic states are adiabatically eliminated, our scheme is robust against the spontaneous emissions of artificial atoms and the decays of transmission line resonator. We also analyze the performance and the experimental feasibility of the scheme, and show that our scheme is feasible under existing experimental conditions.

Unconventional geometric phase gates using two four-level rf-SQUIDs with cyclic population transfer in a cavity

Li-Xin Xia, Guo-Xin Xiong, Qiongtao Xie

We propose a scheme for realizing two-qubit quantum phase gates via an unconventional geometric phase shift using two four-level superconducting artificial atoms with cyclic population transfer (broken symmetry) in a cavity. In this scheme, the logical gates' operation only involves the metastable states of each artificial atom. Moreover, under certain conditions, the atoms are disentangled with the cavity mode. Thus, the gate is insensitive to both the atomic spontaneous emission and the cavity decay.

A simple scheme to generate χ-type four-charge entangled states in circuit QED

高贵龙, 宋付权, 黄寿胜 +4 more

We propose a simple scheme to generate χ-type four-charge entangled states by using SQUID-based charge qubits capacitively coupled to a transmission line resonator (TLR). The coupling between the superconducting qubit and the TLR can be effectively controlled by properly adjusting the control parameters of the charge qubit. The experimental feasibility of our scheme is also shown.

Coherent photons and macroscopic cat states generated by a cyclic artificial atom with broken symmetry

C. P. Sun, Yu-xi Liu, L. F. Wei +1 more

We propose a novel method to generate non-classical states of a single-mode microwave field, and to produce macroscopic cat states by virtue of a three-level system with $Δ$-shaped (or cyclic) transitions. This exotic system can be implemented by a superconducting quantum circuit with a broken symmetry in its effective potential. Using the cyclic population transfer, controllable single-mode photon states can be created in the third transition when two classical fields are applied to induce the other two transitions. This is because, for large detuning, two classical fields are equivalent to an effective external force, which derives the quantized single mode. Our approach is valid not only for superconducting quantum circuits but also for any three-level quantum system with $Δ$-shaped transitions

Higher-order squeezing and entanglement of harmonic oscillators in superconducting circuits

Fei Wang, Wei Nie, C. H. Oh

We show that it is possible to obtain higher-order squeezing and entanglement between a pair of harmonic oscillators coupled to a single Δ-type artificial atom, which is realized because of the broken mirror symmetry of the effective potential in the superconducting circuits. Under the three-photon resonance and adiabatic conditions, the system can act as a coherence-controlled atomic reservoir, resulting in the generation of higher-order nonclassicality at steady state. The stable higher-order nonclassical correlations of the two harmonic oscillators in this solid-state device may find potential applications in quantum communications.
