Six-Vertex Model with Domain wall boundary conditions. Variable Inhomogeneities

Abstract

We consider the six-vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions. We choose the inhomogeneities as solutions of the Bethe Ansatz equations. The Bethe Ansatz equations have many solutions, so we can consider a wide variety of inhomogeneities. For certain choices of the inhomogeneities we study arrow correlation functions on the horizontal line going through the centre. In particular we obtain a multiple integral representation for the emptiness formation probability that generalizes the known formulæ for XXZ antiferromagnets. 1

Inhomogeneous six-vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions and Bethe ansatz

V. E. Korepin, Paul Zinn-Justin

In this note, we consider the six-vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions, defined on an M×M lattice, in the inhomogeneous case where the partition function depends on 2M inhomogeneities λj and μk. For a particular choice of the set of λj we find a new determinant representation for the partition function, which allows evaluation of the bulk free energy in the thermodynamic limit. This provides a new connection between two types of determinant formulas. We also show in a special case that spin correlations on the horizontal line going through the center coincide with the ones for periodic boundary conditions.

Six-vertex model on a finite lattice: Integral representations for nonlocal correlation functions

Filippo Colomo, Giuseppe Di Giulio, A. G. Pronko

We consider the problem of calculation of correlation functions in the six-vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions. To this aim, we formulate the model as a scalar product of off-shell Bethe states, and, by applying the quantum inverse scattering method, we derive three different integral representations for these states. By suitably combining such representations, and using certain antisymmetrization relation in two sets of variables, it is possible to derive integral representations for various correlation functions. In particular, focusing on the emptiness formation probability, besides reproducing the known result, obtained by other means elsewhere, we provide a new one. By construction, the two representations differ in the number of integrations and their equivalence is related to a hierarchy of highly nontrivial identities.

The density profile of the six vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions

I. Lyberg, V. E. Korepin, Jacopo Viti

Abstract We study numerically the density profile in the six-vertex model with domain wall boundary conditions. Using a Monte Carlo algorithm originally proposed by Allison and Reshetikhin we numerically evaluate the inhomogeneous density profiles in the disordered and antiferromagnetic regimes where frozen corners appear. At the free fermion point we present an exact finite-size formula for the density on the horizontal edges that relies on the imaginary time transfer matrix approach. In all cases where exact analytic forms for the density and the arctic curves are known the numerical method shows perfect agreement with them. This also suggests the possibility of its use for accurate quantitative purposes.

An introduction to the algebraic Bethe ansatz

James Plunkett, Omar E. Foda

The algebraic Bethe ansatz is one of the main approaches to solving integrable models in statistical mechanics. This thesis is a detailed introduction to aspects of this technique. In chapter 1, following Takhtajan1, we fully explain all preliminaries that are required by this technique in the context of the 8-vertex model, including the solution of the Yang-Baxter equations in terms of Boltzmann weights that are parameterized by elliptic function. In chapter 2, also following Takhtajan, we restrict our attention to the special case of the 6-vertex model, with Boltzmann weights parameterized by hyperbolic trigonometric functions, formulate the model in detail on a finite lattice with periodic boundary conditions, and show how the algebraic Bethe ansatz can be used to characterize the eigenvectors and eigenvalues, in the homogeneous case (all vertical rapidities are equal, and all horizontal rapidities are also equal). In chapter 3, following Bogoliubov et al2, we consider the 6-vertex model in inhomogeneous case (all rapidities are now independenti variables) but with domain wall boundary conditions. Using the algebraic Bethe ansatz, and Izergin’s result for the partition function, we calculate boundary 1-point functions of the six-vertex model on a finite lattice and represent them in determinant form. The emptiness formation probability, and representations for nonlocal correlation functions, of the 20-vertex model

Pete Rigas

We study the emptiness formation probability, along with various representations for nonlocal correlation functions, of the 20-vertex model. In doing so, we leverage previous arguments for representations of nonlocal correlation functions for the 6-vertex model, under domain-wall boundary conditions, due to Colomo, Di Giulio, and Pronko, in addition to the inhomogeneous, and homogeneous, determinantal representations for the 20-vertex partition function due to Di Francesco, also under domain-wall boundary conditions. By taking a product of row configuration probabilities, we obtain a desired contour integral representation for nonlocal correlations from a determinantal representation. Finally, a counterpart of the emptiness formation probability is introduced for the 20-vertex model.
