The BCS model and the off shell Bethe ansatz for vertex models

Abstract

Abstract. We study the connection between the BCS pairing model and the inhomogeneous vertex model. The two spectral problems coincide in the quasi– classical limit of the off–shell Bethe Ansatz of the disordered six vertex model. The latter problem is transformed into an auxiliary spectral problem which corresponds to the diagonalization of the integrals of motion of the BCS model. A generating functional whose quasi classical expansion leads to the constants of motion of the BCS model and in particular the Hamiltonian, is identified. PACS: 03.65.Fd, 74.20.Fg

Algebraic Bethe ansatz for a discrete-state BCS pairing model

Jan von Delft, Rubik Poghossian

We show in detail how Richardson's exact solution of a discrete-state BCS (DBCS) model can be recovered as a special case of an algebraic Bethe-ansatz solution of the inhomogeneous XXX vertex model with twisted boundary conditions: by implementing the twist using Sklyanin's $\mathbf{K}$-matrix construction and taking the quasiclassical limit, one obtains a complete set of conserved quantities ${\mathbf{H}}_{i}$ from which the DBCS Hamiltonian can be constructed as a second order polynomial. The eigenvalues and eigenstates of the ${\mathbf{H}}_{i}$ (which reduce to the Gaudin Hamiltonians in the limit of infinitely strong coupling) are exactly known in terms of a set of parameters determined by a set of on-shell Bethe ansatz equations, which reproduce Richardson's equations for these parameters. We thus clarify that the integrability of the DBCS model is a special case of the integrability of the twisted inhomogeneous XXX vertex model. Furthermore, by considering the twisted inhomogeneous XXZ model and/or choosing a generic polynomial of the ${\mathbf{H}}_{i}$'s as Hamiltonian, more general exactly solvable models can be constructed. To make the paper accessible to readers that are not Bethe-ansatz experts, the introductory sections include a self-contained review of those of its feature which are needed here.

A crash course on the simple Bethe Ansatz

Jeffrey Robert Schmidt

The simple Bethe Ansatz is illustrated step by step in great detail for a variety of many-body quantum problems and lattice models. The focus is on a constructive presentation in which the problems of determining the spectral conditions and full wave functions are completely and transparently solved for the cases of the isotropic Heisenberg chain, N bosons or spin ħ/2 fermions with δ-function interactions, the XX-Heisenberg chain, and the six-vertex model. osp(1|2) off-shell Bethe ansatz equation with boundary terms

A Lima-Santos

This work is concerned with the quasi-classical limit of the boundary quantum inverse scattering method for the osp(1|2) vertex model with diagonal K matrices. In this limit Gaudin's Hamiltonians with boundary terms are presented and diagonalized. Moreover, integral representations for correlation functions are realized to be solutions of the trigonometric Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations.

Off-shell Bethe ansatz for the XXZ vertex model and solution of the trigonometric Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations

H. Babujian

We prove that the wavevector of the off-shell Bethe ansatz equation for the inhomogeneous XXZ vertex model in the quasiclassical limit gives the solution of the trigonometric Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation. We also observe that this solution is the quasiclassical limit of the solution of the quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation corresponding to U q (sll 2 ).

Off-Shell Bethe Ansatz Equation for Gaudin Magnets and Solutions of Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov Equations

We generalize the previously established connection between the off-shell Bethe ansatz equation for inhomogeneous SU(2) lattice vertex models in the quasiclassical limit and the solutions of the SU(2) Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations to the case of arbitrary simple Lie algebras. (orig.)
