Abstract

In this paper the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions are calculated for Hulthen potential. Then we obtain the ladder operators and show that these operators satisfy SU(2) commutation relation.

Algebraic approach to the Kratzer potential

Mohammad Reza Setare, Ebrahim Karimi

In this paper, the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions are calculated for the Kratzer potential. Then we obtain the ladder operators for the one-dimensional (1D) and 3D Kratzer potential. Finally, we show that these operators satisfy the SU(2) commutation relation.

Algebraic Approach to Radial Ladder Operators in the Hydrogen Atom

Unidad Azcapotzalco

We add a phase variable and its corresponding operator to the description of the hydrogen atom. With the help of these additions, we device operators that act as ladder operators for the radial system. The algebra defined by the commutation relations between those operators has a Casimir operator coincident with the radial Hamiltonian of the problem. The algebra happens to be the well-known su(1,1) Lie algebra, hence the phase-dependent eigenfunctions calculated within our scheme belong in a representation of that algebra, a fact that may be useful in certain applications. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An Algebraic Approach to the Harmonic Oscillator Plus an Inverse Square Potential in Three Dimensions

Shi‐Hai Dong, M. Lozada-Cas

The eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the three-dimensional Schrödinger equation with a harmonic oscillator plus an inverse square interaction are obtained. A realization of the ladder operators for the wave functions is studied. It is found that these operators satisfy the commutation relations of an SU(1,1) group. The closed analytical expressions for the matrix elements of different functions ρ and ρd/dρ with ρ = r 2 are evaluated. Another hidden symmetry explores the relations between the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions for substituting r→ ir. PACS number(s): 03. 65. Fd, 03. 65.Ge and 02. 20.Qs.

Algebraic Approach to the Morse Potential and its Coherent States

Shi‐Hai Dong

A realization of the ladder operators for the 1D Morse potential is presented. These operators satisfy the SU(2) group. The case of anisotropic 3D Morse potential is also discussed if it can be regarded as three 1D Morse potential. The average values of some observables in the coherent states are also calculated.

Exact Eigenvalues and Eigenfunctions of the Hulthen Potential in the PT-Symmetry for Any Angular Momentum

Sameer M. Ikhdair, R. Sever

The Schrodinger equation with the PT-symmetric Hulthen potential is solved exactly by taking into account effect of the centrifugal barrier for any l-state. Eigenfunctions are obtained in terms of the Jacobi polynomials. The Nikiforov-Uvarov method is used in the computations. Our numerical results are in good agreement with the ones obtained before.
