Optimal Power Allocation for Secure Transmission with Both Internal and External Eavesdroppers

Zihao Cheng, Jiangbo Si, Zan Li +1 more

A cooperative jamming and beamforming scheme is proposed for secrecy transmission. Different from the existing works, an internal eavesdropper (Eve) and multiple external Eves coexist in the system, where a multi-antenna jammer is deployed to confuse Eves by using artificial noise. Specifically, the jammer can obtain the instantaneous channel state information (CSI) of the internal Eve, but only has the partial CSI of the external Eves. Upon setting up, the transmission outage requirement at Bob and secrecy outage constraint at the Eves, the transmit power is optimized to derive the maximum secrecy rate for the transmission. Moreover, we investigate the optimal power allocation scheme by characterizing the beamforming vectors under considering both perfect and imperfect CSI cases for the internal Eve. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme can improve the secrecy rate significantly by making full use of instantaneous CSI between the jammer and the internal Eve.

Jamming strategy and security performance analysis for the cooperative system with untrusted relay

Qian Neng Zhou, Guozhen Zang, Yuanyuan Gao +1 more

In this paper, we investigate the cooperative jamming (CJ) strategy in a three-node cooperative system, where the relay, which forwards the received signals in a amplify-and-forward (AF) protocol, is untrusted, furthermore, there is an external malicious eavesdropper. A two-phase CJ scheme, which merely using internal nodes of the cooperative system without the help of external nodes, is proposed to enhance the secrecy information transmission against the malicious eavesdropper and the untrusted relay. And then, we provide the optimal power allocation with maximum instantaneous secrecy rate (OPA-MISR) and the suboptimal power allocation with max-min instantaneous secrecy rate (SPA-MMISR). Finally, the simulation results show that the cooperative jamming proposed is effective to improve the achievable instantaneous secrecy rate and to resist both internal untrusted relay and external malicious eavesdropper.

Secure Transmission Designs for NOMA Systems Against Internal and External Eavesdropping

Kunrui Cao, Buhong Wang, Haiyang Ding +3 more

The key idea of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is to serve multiple users in the same resource block to improve the spectral efficiency. Whereas due to the resource sharing, a security flaw of NOMA emerges in the presence of internal untrusted users, especially untrusted near users who are closer to the base station and can easily access the confidential information for paired far users. To mitigate the flaw, in this paper, we investigate the reliable and secure transmission of NOMA systems with untrusted near users, and propose joint beamforming and power allocation (JBP) scheme for the scenario. Meanwhile, from security point of view, we extend to a worse-case scenario where both untrusted near users and external eavesdroppers exist, and propose joint artificial noise aided beamforming and power allocation (JANBP) scheme to achieve a reliable and secure transmission for the scenario. The exact and asymptotic closed-form expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP) for the two scenarios are derived to evaluate the secrecy performance achieved by the proposed schemes, respectively. The analysis and simulation results show the superiority of the proposed JBP and JANBP schemes in terms of combating internal and external eavesdropping, and also indicate the two schemes can achieve the same SOP at high SNR.
