Broadening of Hyperfine Components of Na D Lines Perturbed by He
E. Roueff, Annie Spielfiedel
Abstract
The role of the different multipolar components to the perturbation of hyperfine spectra line shapes due to collisions is investigated in the frame of the impact approximation. It is shown that the D1 lines of Na are equally perturbed whereas the D2 components exhibit a different broadening. The calculations were performed quantum mechanically with the recent potentials of Hanssen et al. (1979).
