Nonclassicality of photon-modulated atomic coherent states in the Schwinger bosonic realization*

Abstract

We theoretically introduce two new photon-modulated atomic coherent states (ACSs) via using the Schwinger bosonic representation of the angular momentum operators (the sequential operations J ± n ) on an ACS, and investigate their nonclassicality using the Wigner distribution, photon number distribution, and entanglement entropy. It is found that photon-modulated ACSs possess more stronger nonclassicality than the original ACS in certain regions of τ, the nonclassicality enhances with increasing number n of the operations J ± and the operation J + ( − ) n enhances the entanglement in the region of small (large) τ.

New angular momentum state via the bosonic operator realization and its nonclassical property

Qiang Gao, Yun‐Jie Xia

Abstract We theoretically introduce a new angular momentum state via the bosonic operator realization of angular momentum operators on a number state, and study its nonclassicality based on the sub-Poissonian distribution, photon number distribution, entanglement entropy and Wigner distribution. The results show that the nonclassicality of the new state for odd q is more stronger than that for even q, and the nonclassicality for any q always enhances first and then weakens with increasing g. Besides, the entanglement always increases with the increase of q for all of g, and finally reaches a maximum when g and h are in certain value ranges and q is large enough.

Nonclassicality of photon–modulated spin coherent states in the Holstein-Primakoff realization

Xiaoyan Zhang, Ji‐Suo Wang, Lei Wang +2 more

Two new photon-modulated spin coherent states (SCSs) are introduced by operating the spin ladder operators J ± on the ordinary SCS in the Holstein–Primakoff realization and the nonclassicality is exhibited via their photon number distribution, second-order correlation function, photocount distribution and negativity of Wigner distribution. Analytical results show that the photocount distribution is a Bernoulli distribution and the Wigner functions are only associated with two-variable Hermite polynomials. Compared with the ordinary SCS, the photon-modulated SCSs exhibit more stronger nonclassicality in certain regions of the photon modulated number k and spin number j, which means that the nonclassicality can be enhanced by selecting suitable parameters.

New angular momentum coherent states via the nonlinear Bose SU(2) generators and their nonclassical behaviors

Wei-Feng Wu

I theoretically construct a kind of new angular momentum coherent states by virtue of the nonlinear Bose SU(2) generators, and investigate their nonclassicality by analyzing the sub-Poissonian distributions, photon number distributions, entanglement entropy and Wigner phase-space distributions. The results show that the new states always have the sub-Poissonian distributions for all of the photon number sum [Formula: see text] of two modes, the photon number distributions are subjected to the parameter q, and the entanglement always increases quickly and then decreases slowly with increasing [Formula: see text], and the new states for odd q possess more stronger nonclassicality than for even q.

Atomic coherent state in Schwinger bosonic realization for optical Raman coherent effect

Hong-Yi Fan, Xue-xiang Xu, Liyun Hu

For optical Raman coherent effect we introduce the atomic coherent state (or the angular momentum coherent state with various angular momemtum values) in Schwinger bosonic realization, they are the eigenvectors of the Hamiltonian describing the Raman effect. Similar to the fact that the photon coherent state describes laser light, the atomic coherent state is related to Raman process.

Finite-dimensional pair coherent state engendered via the nonlinear Bose operator realization and its Wigner phase-space distributions

Jianming Liu, Xiang‐Guo Meng

We theoretically analyze the photon number distribution, entanglement entropy, and Wigner phase-space distribution, considering the finite-dimensional pair coherent state (FDPCS) generated in the nonlinear Bose operator realization. Our results show that the photon number distribution is governed by the two-mode photon number sum q of the FDPCS, the entanglement of the FDPCS always increases quickly at first and then decreases slowly for any q, and the nonclassicality of the FDPCS for odd q is more stronger than that for even q.

Engineering nonclassical SU (1,1) coherent states of light by multiphoton excitation

Sunia Javed, Hadiah Bint Monir, Naila Amir +1 more

Abstract Quantum optical systems with nonclassical features play a vital role in the physical implementation of a large variety of quantum technologies, such as quantum metrology, quantum information processing, and quantum computation protocols, and hence are important to exploit the quantum advantage. In this work, we construct a general class of nonclassical coherent states (CSs) of light and present a scheme to enhance their nonclassicality by multiphoton excitation. In particular, using various optical realizations of s u ( 1 , 1 ) Lie algebra, we construct CSs of light following Barut-Girardello formalism and then perform the multiphoton discrete excitation on these continuous-variable optical CSs. We investigate the nonclassical features by analyzing the photon-counting probability distribution, Mandel Q − parameter, quadrature squeezing, and Wigner quasi-probability distribution. Our numerical results show that, for a particular set of parametric values, these multiphoton excited states exhibit sub-Poisson photon-counting statistics, quadrature squeezing, and negativity of Wigner distribution, which are indicators of nonclassicality. Moreover, it is shown that the nonclassical nature of these states gets enhanced as the photon-excitation number increases.
