Qubit, Quantum Entanglement and all that: Quantum Computing Made Simple

Zion Elani

Quantum computing, a fancy word resting on equally fancy fundamentals in quantum mechanics, has become a media hype, a mainstream topic in popular culture and an eye candy for high-tech company researchers and investors alike. Quantum computing has the power to provide faster, more efficient, secure and accurate computing solutions for emerging future innovations. Governments the world over, in collaboration with high-tech companies, pour in billions of dollars for the advancement of computing solutions quantum-based and for the development of fully functioning quantum computers that may one day aid in or even replace classical computers. Despite much hype and publicity, most people do not understand what quantum computing is, nor do they comprehend the significance of the developments required in this field, and the impact it may have on the future. Through this lecture notes, we embark on a pedagogic journey of understanding quantum computing, gradually revealing the concepts that form its basis, later diving in a vast pool of future possibilities that lie ahead, concluding with understanding and acknowledging some major hindrance and speed breaking bumpers in their path.

Quantum Computing

Abstract: Quantum computing is a modern calculation method that is based on the science of quantum mechanics. These phenomena include the bizarre behavior of particles at the atomic and subatomic levels, and the way that these particles can be in multiple states simultaneously. The field of computer science is a great mix of physics, math, and information theory. This technology provides high computing power, low power consumption, and exponential speed by controlling the behavior of small physical objects, such as atoms. Atoms, electrons, photons, etc. are all elements of the physical world. We would like to introduce the basics of quantum computing, and some of the ideas behind it. This article begins with the origins of the classical computer and discusses all the improvements and transformations that have been made due to its limitations thus far, then moves on to the basic operations of quantum computing and results in quantum properties such as superposition, entanglement, and interference.

AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF QUANTUM COMPUTING IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Dr. Arven L. Thaylen, Dr. Senira D. Valtome

We are on the verge of a new era in computation, one that operates on the strange and wonderful rules of the quantum world. This article explores the story of quantum computing, a technology that promises to solve problems far beyond the reach of today's fastest supercomputers. We'll journey from the core ideas that make it all possible—concepts like superposition and entanglement—to the incredible machines being built in labs around the world. We'll see how these machines are being programmed and witness the first hints of their power in fields like medicine, materials science, and cybersecurity. Finally, we'll take an honest look at the immense challenges that still lie ahead on the path to building a truly powerful quantum computer. This is a story of human ingenuity pushing the boundaries of science, a tale of the immense potential and practical hurdles of the coming quantum age.

Introduction to Quantum Computing

Surya Teja Marella, Hemanth Sai Kumar Parisa

Quantum computing is a modern way of computing that is based on the science of quantum mechanics and its unbelievable phenomena. It is a beautiful combination of physics, mathematics, computer science and information theory. It provides high computational power, less energy consumption and exponential speed over classical computers by controlling the behavior of small physical objects i.e. microscopic particles like atoms, electrons, photons, etc. Here, we present an introduction to the fundamental concepts and some ideas of quantum computing. This paper starts with the origin of traditional computing and discusses all the improvements and transformations that have been done due to their limitations until now. Then it moves on to the basic working of quantum computing and the quantum properties it follows like superposition, entanglement and interference. To understand the full potentials and challenges of a practical quantum computer that can be launched commercially, the paper covers the architecture, hardware, software, design, types and algorithms that are specifically required by the quantum computers. It uncovers the capability of quantum computers that can impact our lives in various viewpoints like cyber security, traffic optimization, medicines, artificial intelligence and many more. At last, we concluded all the importance, advantages and disadvantages of quantum computers. Small-scale quantum computers are being developed recently. This development is heading towards a great future due to their high potential capabilities and advancements in ongoing research. Before focusing on the significances of a general-purpose quantum computer and exploring the power of the new arising technology, it is better to review the origin, potentials, and limitations of the existing traditional computing. This information helps us in understanding the possible challenges in developing exotic and competitive technology. It will also give us an insight into the ongoing progress in this field.

QUANTUM COMPUTING - A NEW WORLD OF COMPUTERS

Himanshu Srivastava, Devesh Katiyar, Gaurav Goel

ABSTRACT: Can our computers be faster than existing classical computers? Can computers  offer faster speeds for aiding different organizations? Can we expect much faster calculation and processing speed ? The answer goes here is yes. It is possible to use the concepts of quantum mechanics, a branch of physics, with computer science to build a faster system. Thus, we get a quicker manner of computing referred to as Quantum Computing that's primarily based totally on precept of physics and computing technology. Quantum computing is a new and interesting discipline on the intersection of mathematics, computer technology and physics. It uses quantum mechanics to enhance the performance of computation. Here we present a number of the thoughts in quantum computing. The paper starts with the aid of using motivating the valuable concepts of quantum mechanics and quantum computation. This discipline continues to be improving and has massive potential.
