Quantum speed limit time and entanglement in a non-Markovian evolution of spin qubits of coupled quantum dots

Abstract

Quantum speed limit time and entanglement in a system composed of coupled quantum dots are investigated. The excess electron spin in each quantum dot constitutes the physical system (qubit). Also the spin interaction is modeled through the Heisenberg model and the spins are imposed by an external magnetic field. Taking into account the spin relaxation as a non-Markovian process, the quantum speed limit and entanglement evolution are discussed. Our findings reveal that increasing the magnetic field leads to the faster quantum evolution. In addition, the temperature increment causes the longer quantum speed limit time as well as the entanglement degradation.

Influences of spin–orbit interaction on quantum speed limit and entanglement of spin qubits in coupled quantum dots

M. Bagheri Harouni

Quantum speed limit and entanglement of a two-spin Heisenberg XYZ system in an inhomogeneous external magnetic field are investigated. The physical system studied is the excess electron spin in two adjacent quantum dots. The influences of magnetic field inhomogeneity as well as spin–orbit coupling are studied. Moreover, the spin interaction with surrounding magnetic environment is investigated as a non-Markovian process. The spin–orbit interaction provides two important features: the formation of entanglement when two qubits are initially in a separated state and the degradation and rebirth of the entanglement.

Quantum speed limit in a qubit-spin-bath system

Lu Hou, Bin Shao, Yong-Bo Wei +1 more

We investigate the behavior of quantum speed limit (QSL) time for a typical non-Markovian system, a central spin coupled to a spin star configuration. We connect the QSL time with an external control and show that the effectiveness of the external magnetic field, as well as the coupling strength, is related to the fundamental bounds that affect the maximum speed at which a quantum system can evolve in its state space. We also demonstrate that a spin bath with larger size may shorten the QSL time, while the upper state population plays an important role for the acceleration of quantum evolution in the memory surrounding.

The quantum speed limit time of a two-qubit XYZ spin chain with intrinsic decoherence

Lu Hou, Bin Shao, Yuguang Zhu

We study the quantum speed limit (QSL) time of the two-qubit XYZ spin chain model with the influence of intrinsic decoherence. We show that the intrinsic decoherence can suppress the evolution of this system, no matter what initial states the two qubits start from. The investigation of entanglement reveals that quantum correlation is the physical reason for the acceleration of the system. In addition, we also demonstrate that for different initial states, external magnetic field may have opposite influence on QSL time and it mainly derives from the inhibition of entanglement as magnetic field increases.

Influence of temperature and magnetic field on the quantum speed limit in a coupled quantum dots system

Zahra Karimi, M. Bagheri Harouni

In the present contribution, the quantum speed limit time, as a useful parameter for investigating the quantum decoherence, is studied. The influence of temperature and magnetic field on the quantum speed limit and coherence in a coupled quantum dot system is investigated. Our finding reveals that temperature decreasing will lead to quantum speed limit decrement and consequently the decoherence rate increment. In contrast to the temperature, the magnetic field impact does not follow a same scenario, whereas the role of magnetic field depends on the initial state. Depending on the initial state, the magnetic field may possess a destructive or constructive role on the quantum speed limit or the decoherence rate.

Quantum speed limit time, non-Markovianity and quantum phase transition in Ising spins system

Muhammad Musadiq, Salman Khan

Abstract We study the dynamics of quantum speed limit (QSL) time of a central spin, uniformly interacting with the spins of an Ising spin chain placed in a transverse magnetic field, and the non-Markovianity of the spin environment. Both pure and time dependent mixed initial states of the central spin are taken into account. For a pure initial state, both the quantities work as indicators for quantum phase transition (QPT) and can locate the critical point (CP). For a time dependent mixed initial state of the central spin, QSL time also shows anomalous behavior in the vicinity of the CP, a signature of signaling QPT. The numerical simulations show that the spin environment has potential capacity for speeding up quantum evolution, which can be manipulated through the strength of the applied magnetic field.

Tightening of quantum speed limit bound and tracing back information under non-Markovian dynamics

Natasha Awasthi, Dheeraj Kumar Joshi

Abstract Quantum theory sets a fundamental bound for the minimal time evolution between initial and final state of a system . This bound is called quantum speed limit time , which is used to quantify the speed of evolution of a quantum system. If quantum speed limit time decreases, the evolution keeps on increasing. In this paper, we study the effect of quantum speed limit time in terms of correlated and uncorrelated noise channels like amplitude damping and phase damping channel. We use maximally entangled mixed state as our initial state. We observe the behavior of quantum speed limit time under Markovian and non-Markovian dynamics. We prove that for the special class of our inital state and for the dynamical evolution of a system, there exist a link between quantum speed limit time and non-Markovianity. However, an interesting results were also observed regarding the tightness of bound in Markovian region. Our results shed light on the information back-flow between system and environment in terms of quantum evolution which is useful as a resource in quantum information processing task.
