The quantum speed limit time of a two-qubit XYZ spin chain with intrinsic decoherence

Abstract

We study the quantum speed limit (QSL) time of the two-qubit XYZ spin chain model with the influence of intrinsic decoherence. We show that the intrinsic decoherence can suppress the evolution of this system, no matter what initial states the two qubits start from. The investigation of entanglement reveals that quantum correlation is the physical reason for the acceleration of the system. In addition, we also demonstrate that for different initial states, external magnetic field may have opposite influence on QSL time and it mainly derives from the inhibition of entanglement as magnetic field increases.

Influence of Intrinsic Decoherence on Entanglement in Two-Qubit Quantum Heisenberg XYZ Chain

Bin Shao, Tian-Hai Zeng, Jian Zou

Taking the intrinsic decoherence effect into account, we investigate the time evolution of entanglement for two-qubit XYZ Heisenberg model in an external uniform magnetic field. Concurrence, the measurement of entanglement, is calculated. We show how the intrinsic decoherence modifies the time evolution of the entanglement and find that at short-time case, concurrence is oscillating as increasing magnetic field, which implies that entanglement may be enhanced or weakened in some time regions.

Entanglement of a two-qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XYZ chain in nonuniform magnetic fields with intrinsic decoherence

Xu Xiao-Bo, Liu Jin-Ming, Yu Peng-Fei

Taking the intrinsic decoherence effect into account, this paper investigates the entanglement of a two-qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XYZ model in the presence of nonuniform external magnetic fields by employing the concurrence as entanglement measure. It is found that both the intrinsic decoherence and the anisotropy of the system give a significant suppression to the entanglement. Moreover it finds that the initial state of the system plays an important role in the time evolution of the entanglement, which means that the entanglement of the system is independent of the nonuniformity and uniformity of the magnetic field when the system is in the initial state |(0)ψ = |00〉 and | ψ′ (0)〉 = m |01〉 + n |10〉, respectively.

Two Qubits Entanglement Dynamics in 1D Heisenberg Chain with Intrinsic Decoherence

Jian Zou

To reveal how the decoherence modifies the time evolution of the entanglement of quantum system, the intrinsic decoherence approach and the entanglement of formation are used, and the time evolution of entanglement for two-qubit 1D quantum Heisenberg model in an external uniform magnetic field is derived. It is shown that the external magnetic field can strengthen the effects of the intrinsic decoherence on the entanglement of the system.

Quantum speed limit and topological quantum phase transition in an extended XY model

Cheng, W.W., Li, B., Gong, L.Y. +1 more

We explore quantum speed limit time τQSL of a qubit system coupling to a spin chain environment which is described by an extended Ising model associated with non-trivial topological characterization. For an initial pure state, we find that τQSL exhibits a behavior of local maximum around all critical points when the environment spin chain undergoes a topological quantum phase transition driven by external magnetic field λ or the anisotropy γ of nearest-neighbor interaction. And the value of local maximum would increase by strengthening the coupling between the system and environment around the critical points. However, the behavior of τQSL are both driving parameters and critical points dependent when the topological quantum phase transition is driven by the three-site interaction α or its anisotropy δ. Additionally, we also investigate τQSL for arbitrary time-evolution state in the whole dynamics process and find that τQSL exhibits a behavior of oscillation at non-critical points. However, τQSL will decay rapidly to zero around all critical points, and such trend accompany with oscillation behavior at some critical points.

Decoherence Times and Quantum Speed Limits in Spin-Chain Systems: A Many-Body Testbed for Energy-Time Uncertainty

Rowan Brad Quni-Gudzinas

Quantum speed limits (QSLs) constrain the minimum time for quantum state evolution, typically derived from energy bounds like the Margolus-Levitin (ML) and Mandelstam-Tamm (MT) relations. In open systems, decoherence—driven by environmental interactions—may impose additional constraints. This work investigates whether decoherence times fundamentally limit QSLs in spin-chain systems, extending ML/MT bounds to open dynamics. By modeling spin chains with Lindblad equations and simulating Heisenberg-type interactions, we analyze the interplay between energy fluctuations, decoherence rates, and evolution times. Experimental validation via trapped-ion or superconducting-qubit arrays could test energy-time uncertainty in many-body systems.
