Nonclassical Effects Based on Husimi Distributions in Two Open Cavities Linked by an Optical Waveguide

Abstract

Nonclassical effects are investigated in a system formed by two quantum wells, each of which is inside an open cavity. The cavities are spatially separated, linked by a fiber, and filled with a linear optical medium. Based on Husimi distributions (HDs) and Wehrl entropy, we explore the effects of the physical parameters on the generation and the robustness of the mixedness and HD information in the phase space. The generated quantum coherence and the HD information depend crucially on the cavity-exciton and fiber cavity couplings as well as on the optical medium density. The HD information and purity are lost due to the dissipation. This loss may be inhibited by increasing the optical susceptibility as well as the couplings of the exciton-cavity and the fiber-cavity. These parameters control the regularity, amplitudes, and frequencies of the generated mixedness.

Robustness of Generated Geometric Phase of Quantum Wells in Two Open Waveguide-Coupled Optical Cavities

Abdel‐Baset A. Mohamed, Ahmed Farouk, Abdel Haleem Abdel Aty +1 more

In this article, we study the geometric phase in a system formed by two spatially separated cavities interacting with the environment. Each cavity is filled by a linear optical medium and contains a quantum well. For different initial states, the robustness of the generated geometric phase is analyzed under the effects of the optical susceptibility, the dissipation of the cavities, the exciton-cavity and fiber-cavity couplings. Our results show that the geometric phase is extremely sensitive to the effects of the cavity-exciton and the fiber-cavity couplings as well as to the optical susceptibility. This opens new routes to understand the storage and manipulation of quantum data in a quantum network.

Generation and robustness of bipartite non-classical correlations in two nonlinear microcavities coupled by an optical fiber

A.‐B. A. Mohamed, Hichem Eleuch

We explore the bipartite non-classical correlations of two quantum wells coupled to two spatially separated microcavities. The microcavities are filled by linear optical media and linked by a single-mode optical fiber. We prove that it is possible to generate a correlation from the initially uncorrelated state. With particular coupling constants of the cavity-exciton and the fiber-cavity coupling, the maximum correlations can be generated periodically, and sudden changes occur only in the local quantum uncertainty. The optical susceptibility and coupling constants control the regularity, amplitudes, and frequencies of the correlation functions. When the system initially starts with a maximally correlated state, we show that the correlation robustness of the Wigner-Yanase skew information and Bell’s inequality depends not only on the coupling strengths and optical susceptibility but also on the dissipation rates. Deterioration of the correlations is substantially associated with the dissipation.

Qubit Quasi-Probability Coherence Induced by a Nonlinear Coherent Cavity Filled With a Kerr-Like Medium Under Dissipation Effect

Abdel‐Baset A. Mohamed, Ahmad Almutlg, S. M. Younis

The work considers a qubit interacting off-resonantly a nonlinear Kerr-like quantum-harmonic-oscillator cavity field through nonlinear intensity-dependent and one-photon interactions. The analytical solution for the master equation is obtained when the qubit starts with an excited pure state while the harmonic-oscillator field starts with a coherent state. The dynamics of the phase space Husimi-distribution and its Wehrl-Husimi entropy entanglement/mixedness is explored under the effects of the atom-field detuning, Kerr-like nonlinearity as well as atomic spontaneous-emission dissipation. For resonant case, the Wehrl-Husimi entropy qubit-oscillator entanglement and atomic mixedness are generated (due to the unitary nonlinear intensity-dependent evolution) with a regular oscillatory behavior. For off-resonant case, the quantum coherence is generated partially with a high-frequency irregular oscillatory behavior. The Kerr-like nonlinearity and the atomic spontaneous dissipation lead to enhancing the generated atomic mixedness Wehrl-Husimi entropy enhances and stabilizing the atomic state in a maximally mixed state. The phase space Husimi-distribution information dynamics of the corresponding the generated atomic mixed states confirms the vital link between the formed interference Husimi-distributions and the generated atomic Wehrl-Husimi entropy mixedness. It is found that the dynamics of the Husimi-distribution information and its Wehrl-Husimi entropy is highly sensitive to the qubit-cavity detuning, Kerr-like nonlinearity as well as the dissipation.

Bell-inequality and skew-information non-localities in two lossy cavity-qubit systems linked by a waveguide

A.‐B. A. Mohamed, Ibtisam A. H. Masmali, A.‐S. F. Obada

We explore two open cavity-qubit systems linked via an optical fiber. The generation of non-local correlations (NLCs) between the two qubits, via skew-information and Bell-function, are investigated under the effects of the physical parameters of the initial state and the interaction couplings of the cavity-qubit and the cavity-fiber and the environment. It is found that the robustness and the generation of the NLCs depend on the physical parameters. Under the condition that the cavity-qubit couplings is much smaller than the cavity-fiber coupling, the regularity of the growth and the oscillations of the NLCs are enhanced and are more robust.

Phase space information in a non-linear quantum system containing a Kerr-like medium through Su(1, 1)-algebraic treatment

Abdel‐Baset A. Mohamed

Analytical description for a Su(2)-quantum system interacting with a damped Su(1, 1)-cavity, which is filled with a non-linear Kerr medium, is presented. The dynamics of non-classicality of Su(1, 1)-state is investigated via the negative part of the Wigner function. We show that the negative part depends on the unitary interaction and the Kerr-like medium and it can be disappeared by increasing the dissipation rate and the detuning parameter. The phase space information of the Husimi function and its Wehrl density is very sensitive not only to the coupling to the environment and the unitary interaction but also to the detuning as well as to the Kerr-like medium. The phase space information may be completely erased by increasing the coupling to the environment. The coherence loss of the Su(2)-state is investigated via the Husimi Wehrl entropy. If the effects of the detuning parameter or/and of the Kerr-like medium are combined with the damping effect, the damping effect of the coupling to the environment may be weaken, and the Wehrl entropy is delayed to reach its steady-state value. At the steady-state value, the phase space information and the coherence are quickly lost.

Nonclassicality dynamics of a dissipative cavity field containing two qubits with Kerr medium: Linear and Wehrl phase entropies

A.‐B. A. Mohamed, Fethi Mohamed Maiz, Fadhel Almalki +2 more

An analytical solution for a dissipative cavity field interacting with two qubits (TQs) in presence of Kerr-like medium is obtained. The super-operator method is used to obtaining the field density matrix elements under the dispersive approximation. Linear entropy is calculated to determine the entanglement between the cavity field and the TQs. Moreover, the Wehrl entropy and Wehrl phase distribution are discussed to discover the nonclassicality dynamics of a dissipative cavity field. It is found that the Kerr medium and the dissipation reduce the generated quantum coherence due to the qubit–cavity interactions. It is possible to control the ability of cavity–qubit interactions to generate quantum coherence by the mean photon number of the initial coherent cavity state. Moreover, the nonclassicality of the initial coherent state reduces the dissipative and the Kerr medium effects.
