Abstract

ion in the host material of YPO. Furthermore, we observed that the ratio of primary and secondary TAT-splitting can be controlled by the single and double dressing effect using the power and detuning of employed laser fields. In our experiment, we observed that secondary splitting from secondary dressed levels can only be observed at the resonance wavelength in the three-level system. Based on the results, we proposed a model for a multi-channel optical router and logic NAND gate. The routing action results from primary and secondary TAT-splitting, while the NAND gate was realized by the primary dressed states.

Observation of Autler-Townes splitting in six-wave mixing

Yanpeng Zhang, Peiying Li, Huaibin Zheng +5 more

We report an observation of the self- and external-dressed Autler-Townes (AT) splitting in six-wave mixing (SWM) within an electromagnetically induce transparency window, which demonstrates the interaction between two coexisting SWM processes. The multi-dressed states induced by the nested interactions between many dressing fields and the five-level atomic system lead to the primary, secondary and triple AT splittings in the experiment. Such controlled multi-channel splitting of nonlinear optical signals can be used in a range of applications, e.g. the wavelength-demultiplexer in optical communication and quantum information processing.

Lifetime Autler-Townes Splitting of Dressed Multi-Order Fluorescence in Pr3+:YSO

Imran Ali, Changbiao Li, Abdulkhaleq Hasan +4 more

For first time, we study primary and secondary Autler-Townes (AT) splitting of multi-order fluorescence (FL) in time domain. The AT-splitting of multi-order FL signals are controlled by changing power, detuning, and polarization of single and double dressing in a heteronuclear-like molecule system of Pr+3:YSO. The primary and secondary AT-splitting is caused by double cascaded dressing in time domain. The AT-splitting of multi-order FL in time domain is more sensitive than that of in spectral domain. Such results have potential applications in quantum communication and optical information processing on photonic chip.

Ultrafast optical transistor and router of multi-order fluorescence and spontaneous parametric four-wave mixing in Pr^3+:YSO

Feng Wen, Imran Ali, Abdulkhaleq Hasan +4 more

We study the realization of an optical transistor (switch and amplifier) and router in multi-order fluorescence (FL) and spontaneous parametric four-wave mixing (SP-FWM). We estimate that the switching speed is about 15 ns. The router action results from the Autler-Townes splitting in spectral or time domain. The switch and amplifier are realized by dressing suppression and enhancement in FL and SP-FWM. The optical transistor and router can be controlled by multi-parameters (i.e., power, detuning, or polarization).

By changing different parameters of single and double lasers, we observed the dressed energy level transition from single to multi-level with a single laser. Each sample responded based on their ions' structure and phase symmetry in the host YPO crystal.

Amplifier and Router of Parametric Amplified Four-Wave Mixing

Haijun Tang, Irfan Ahmed, Dan Zhang +4 more

We investigated an optical amplifier and router by the aperture nonlinear phase and the phase angle of parametric amplified four-wave mixing in a thermal rubidium vapor. The three-stage optical amplifier has been realized and the total amplified gain is observed up to 10. The router action results from the multi-peaks (multi-pair two-modes) while the cross talk of router can be realized by the opposite dressing shift of composite Autler-Townes splitting.

Two-Channel Router of Phase Control Optical Nonreciprocity in Parametric Amplified Four-Wave Mixing

Kangkang Li, Haijun Tang, Irfan Ahmed +5 more

We study the realization of two-channel optical router in parametrically amplified four-wave mixing (PA-FWM) process in rubidium atomic system. Here, we report the first level routing action resulting from the PA-FWM process and the second level routing resulting from the optical nonreciprocity. We also find the channel equalization ratio and optical fidelity of this router can be controlled by the phase of dressing beams. The switching speed of this system is about 18 ns, which can potentially contribute to quantum routing.
