Encouraged by growing computing power and algorithmic development, machine learning technologies have become powerful tools for a wide variety of application areas, spanning from agriculture to chemistry and natural language processing. The use of quantum systems to process classical data using machine learning algorithms has given rise to an emerging research area, i.e. quantum machine learning. Despite its origins in the processing of classical data, quantum machine learning also explores the use of quantum phenomena for learning systems, the use of quantum computers for learning on quantum data and how machine learning algorithms and software can be formulated and implemented on quantum computers. Quantum machine learning can have a transformational effect on computer science. It may speed up the processing of information well beyond the existing classical speeds. Recent work has seen the development of quantum algorithms that could serve as foundations for machine learning applications. Despite its great promise, there are still significant hardware and software challenges that need to be resolved before quantum machine learning becomes practical. In this paper, we present an overview of quantum machine learning in the light of classical approaches. Departing from foundational concepts of machine learning and quantum computing, we discuss various technical contributions, strengths and similarities of the research work in this domain. There has been remarkable development in the data-driven decision-making domain of Artificial Intelligence (AI). However, the complexity of the AI models and the amount of data have shown some drawbacks with conventional computing models. One of the interdisciplinary branches of quantum computing and machine learning is Quantum Machine Learning (QML), which is a combination of quantum computing and machine learning and relies on the unique characteristics of quantum computing, such as superposition, entanglement, and quantum parallelism, to enhance the performance of the machines. This review provides a comprehensive description of theory, architectures, algorithms, implementational approaches, applications, problems, and future directions of QML. The core concepts of quantum computing and machine learning are introduced. Different representations of quantum states, quantum data encoding, variational quantum circuits, quantum kernel methods, and hybrid quantum or classical optimization are discussed. Significant QML algorithms like Quantum Support Vector Machines, Quantum Neural Networks, Variational Quantum Eigen solvers, Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithms, and Quantum reinforcement learning are explored and evaluated for computational power and applications. The scaling up of quantum computer sizes, data encoding overhead, complexity of optimizations, benchmarking, and decoherence are discussed in detail, as well as recent developments in fault-tolerant quantum computing and hybrid learning approaches. Finally, a conceptual framework is given to demonstrate the unification of classical computation and quantum computation to intelligently process data. This review demonstrates how QML could be the next-generation computational method to accelerate scientific advancements and enable new advanced AI technologies.
The two emerging technologies are machine learning and artificial intelligence, and as we all know, quantum computing is one of the most revolutionary developments in technology. Researchers are considering combining machine learning and quantum computing with the advancements in both fields. As a result, quantum machine learning-a fusion of these two fields-has evolved. It has the capacity to effectively address a wide range of real-world issues. Both fields will surely benefit from the combined results of the two fields. When the potential of quantum principles and its peculiarities is employed with machine learning, quantum machine learning reaches a very advanced level. Now that quantum concepts are being incorporated, traditional machine learning algorithms like SVM, PCA, and KNN are being reviewed as QSVM, Q-KNN, and QPCA, which are the most effective and powerful techniques for quantum machine learning. Quantum machine learning is a boom for the future; it will soon vastly surpass even the most advanced neural networks, deep learning systems, and machine learning systems of today. Modern machine learning is quicker than classical computing thanks to quantum machine learning, which is concerned with quantum software. Quantum data from an artificial quantum system is what QML is based on. In this paper, we will also study about the future network that is quantum network, which will be use by replacing classical networking. By enabling quantum communication between any two sites on Earth, a quantum internet is intended to fundamentally advance internet technology.
Emerging technologies, including quantum information science and artificial education systems, have the potential to have significant implications for the future of human civilization. Quantum information, on the one hand, and machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), on the other, consume their personal unique set of queries and contests that have been studied in isolation up until now. However, a recent study is starting to examine whether these disciplines can teach one another anything useful. The discipline of quantum ML investigates how quantum computing and ML may work together to find solutions to challenges in both areas. Major advancements in the two areas of effect have been made recently. Particularly relevant in today's “big data” era is the use of quantum computing to speed up the solution of machine learning (ML) challenges. However, ML is already present in many state-of-the-art technologies and may play a crucial role in future quantum technologies.
