Abstract

We investigate some new properties of the model of a pure bipartite system in dissipative environments. The mathematical model of bipartite system with the interaction cavity field in the presence of dissipative environment is designed. The systems is assumed to be initially in the Warner state. The system is analytically solved using master equation method. We quantified the dynamics of quantum correlation between the system, under the influence of the mean photon numbers, type of the initial state and spontaneous emission rate of atom using several measures are, measurement-induced disturbance (MID) and Geometric measure of quantum discord (GQD), negativity (N) and concurrence (C). The effect of the system parameters on dynamics of entanglement is investigated, it is found that the spontaneous emission rate of atom number have much effect on all measures. Moreover the Geometric measure of quantum discord (GQD) have different behavior rather than the others and more influenced by the mean photon number and type of the initial state.

Entanglement and quantum discord in the cavity QED models

Hui‐hui Miao, Wanshun Li

We investigate the quantum correlation between light and matter in bipartite quantum systems, drawing on the Jaynes–Cummings model and the Tavis–Cummings model, which are well-established in cavity quantum electrodynamics. Through the resolution of the quantum master equation, we can derive the dissipative dynamics in open systems. To assess the extent of quantum correlation, several measures are introduced: von Neumann entropy, concurrence and quantum discord. The effects of initial entanglement and dissipation intensity on quantum discord are carefully examined. Furthermore, we examined the dynamics of quantum discord within the O H + model.

Quantum discord in the system of atoms interacting with coupled cavities

Rui-Qi Li, LU Dao-ming

The geometrical quantum discord (GQD) is an effective measure of quantum correlation in quantum systems. We have studied GQD dynamics of the system comprising two two-level atoms resonantly interacting with two coupled cavities. GQD between atoms and that between cavities are investigated. The influences of coupling constant between cavities and initial entanglement between atoms on GQD are discussed. Results obtained using a numerical method show that GQD between atoms is strengthened, and GQD between cavities is weakened with increasing initial entanglement between atoms. On the other hand, the evolution regularity of GQD between atoms and that between cavities are all strengthened with increasing coupling constant between cavities.

Quantum correlation dynamics of two qubits in independent reservoirs with initial system-reservoir correlations

Xin-Ping Ma, Yue Sun, Jin‐Liang Guo

Abstract The dynamics of entanglement and quantum discord (QD) between two two-level atoms interacting with two dissipative coupled cavities in the presence of initial atom-cavity correlations is investigated. In comparison with the result of the initial factorized state, we show that the initial state contained quantum correlation of atom-cavity is most robust against the dissipative environment, and the initial atom-cavity correlations, especially the quantum correlation, play a constructive role in the generation of atomic entanglement and QD. Simultaneously, the comparison between Markovian and non-Markovian dynamics, and the influences of inter-cavity hopping rate are also taken into account and analyzed.

Quantum correlations between identical and unidentical atoms in a dissipative environment

Ferdi Altintas, Resul Eryiğit

We have studied the dynamics of quantum correlations such as entanglement, Bell nonlocality and quantum discord between identical and unidentical atoms interacting with a single-mode cavity field and subject to cavity decay. The effect of single-atom detuning, cavity decay rate and initial preparation of the atoms on the corresponding correlation measures have been investigated. It is found that even under strong dissipation, time evolution can create high quantum discord while entanglement and Bell nonlocality stay zero for an initially separable state. Quantum discord increases while entanglement decreases in a certain time period under dissipation for the initial state that both atoms are in the excited state if the qubits are identical. For some types of initial states, cavity decay is shown to drive the system to a stationary state with high entanglement and quantum discord.

Sudden Transition between Quantum Correlation and Classical Correlation: the Effect of Interaction between Subsystems

Jun-Yan Yan, Lincheng Wang, X. X. Yi

We study the quantum discord dynamics of a bipartite composite system in the presence of a dissipative environment and investigate the effect of the interaction between the two subsystems. The results show that the interaction can influence the sudden transition between the quantum correlation and the classical correlation and for the maximally mixed marginals initial states, the sudden transition regime will always exist. The entanglements are also discussed in comparison to the quantum discord in describing the quantum correlations.

Dynamics of entanglement and quantum discord in the Tavis–Cummings model

Juliana Restrepo, Boris A. Rodríguez

Abstract We revisit the problem of the dynamics of quantum correlations in the Tavis–Cummings model. Our results show that the dynamics of entanglement and quantum discord are far from being trivial or intuitive. We find states with the same entanglement but different discord and states where the two quantifiers give opposite information about correlations at a certain time. We furthermore show that many of the dynamical features of quantum discord attributed to dissipation are already present in the exact framework and are due to the characteristic quantum nonlinearity of the model and to the choice of initial conditions. Through a comprehensive analysis of pure and mixed initial conditions, we find a fascinating range of phenomena that can be used for experimental purposes. We propose an experiment called quantum discord gates where for a given pure initial condition discord is zero or non-zero depending on the number of photons in the cavity. Given the marginal character of states with zero discord this result is not only completely counterintuitive but is also useful as a way to count photons.
