Abstract

The general scheme of the method of integration of the second order ordinary differential equations with regular singular points is outlined. The algorithm of finding a general solution of the second order differential equation with regular singular points is given. The Schr dinger equation for anharmonic oscillator with the potential of the fourth, sixth and eighth degrees of non-linearity is considered, the values of its energy spectrum are found.

ACCOUNTING OF TUNNELING EFFECTS WHEN CALCULATING THE ENERGY SPECTRUM OF THE SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION

Irina N. Belyaeva, Н.А. Чеканов, Igor Kіrichenko +1 more

The general scheme of the method for integrating second-order differential equations in the form of power series is presented. The obtained results for the Schrödinger equation with potentials with two and three minima for quantum anharmonic oscillators are presented. The necessary accuracy of calculations is controlled by the number of terms in the power series and the number of digits in the mantissa of decimal numbers. The structure of the energy levels and wave functions are shown.

Bound state solutions of the one-dimensional Schrdinger equation for the harmonic oscillator via the Laplace transform

Zidong Chen

AbstrcatThe second-order one-dimensional Schrdinger differential equation for the harmonic oscillator is reduced to a first-order differential equation by means of the Laplace transform, and then, its solutions are obtained by means of directly making use of an integral. The energy spectrum is derived from the condition that the wave functions must be single-valued.The required eigenfunctions are obtained by applying the expansions of series and inverse Laplace transform.

In this paper, the Schrdinger equation with an anharmonic oscillator potential V(x)=x2/2+g/2x2 is solved. The exact energy equation and the normalized wave function are obtained. The double-wave function quantum theory is applied to gain the time evolution equation to describe the physical quantities of a single motional particle in the anharmonic oscillator.

POTENTIAL REPRESENTATION METHOD FOR THE SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION

Arvydas Juozapas Janavičius, Donatas Jurgaitis, Sigita Turskienė

A general solution of the Schrödinger equation in the potential representation has been obtained in the form of integral equations. In this representation, the wave function for positive and negative energies or bound states can be expressed as a product of the unperturbed solution for model potential and the function which depends on the additional potential or potential perturbation. Here we have proved that this method is equivalent to the method of variation of constants for negative energies. The linearly independent solutions of Schrödinger equation for harmonic oscillator potential have been obtained for derivation of integral equations, which are used for finding eigenfunctions and eigenvalues for Woods–Saxon potential. Eigenvalues obtained by numerical iterations of these integral equations are in good agreement with results obtained by the discretization method. The kernels of the obtained integral equations are proportional to the perturbation or difference of Woods–Saxon and harmonic oscillator potentials.

EXACT NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF SCHRÖDINGER'S EQUATION FOR A PARTICLE IN AN INTERACTION POTENTIAL OF GENERAL SHAPE

M. Rieth, Wolfram Schommers, Sotirios Baskoutas

A method is proposed for the quantum-mechanical determination of the eigenstates and eigenvalues of a particle (e.g. an electron) in a potential of general shape. For such systems the method allows one to calculate the exact solutions of the stationary Schrödinger equation. For the application of this method any well-known reference system is needed. A transition from the stationary reference system to the stationary system under investigation is performed by means of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. The results are compared with various standard methods; alternative numerical methods will be discussed critically.

THE q-SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION

Joseph A. Minahan

We consider the Schrödinger equation for the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator, but with the normal derivative replaced by a q-derivative. The normalizable solutions are found and the q-generalization of the Hermite polynomials is given. The free equation is also considered, but no normalizable eigenstates exist even if the system is in a box.
