Roadmap to Quantum Aesthetics

Ivan C. H. Liu, Hsiao-Yuan Chen

Quantum mechanics occupies a central position in contemporary science while remaining largely inaccessible to direct sensory experience. This paper proposes a roadmap to quantum aesthetics that examines how quantum concepts become aesthetic phenomena through artistic mediation rather than direct representation. Two complementary and orthogonal approaches are articulated. The first, a pioneering top-down approach, employs text-prompt-based generative AI to probe quantum aesthetics as a collective cultural construct embedded in large-scale training data. By systematically modulating the linguistic weight of the term "quantum," generative models are used as experimental environments to reveal how quantum imaginaries circulate within contemporary visual culture. The second, a bottom-up approach, derives aesthetic form directly from quantum-mechanical structures through the visualization of quantum-generated data, exemplified here by hydrogen atomic orbitals calculated from the Schrödinger equation. These approaches are framed not as competing methods but as intersecting paths within a navigable field of artistic research. They position quantum aesthetics as an emergent field of artistic research shaped by cultural imagination, computational mediation, and physical law, opening new directions for artistic practice and pedagogy at the intersection of art, data, artificial intelligence and quantum science.

Digital Quantum Consciousness and Computation

Alain Lioret, Bardakos, John

For more than a century, quantum physics has been discovered. But it is only in recent years that quantum computation knows a very important rise. The quantum computer is under construction (IBM just released the first quantum computer in January 2019), and it is a real digital revolution that is coming. We will gradually move from the use of bits to that of qubits. A new computer is being born. So it is also a new way of thinking that emerges, and which is connected to that so well described by Erwin Schrödinger, the father of the famous cat, in his books Mind and Matter, and Physics in our Time [Schrodinger58]. As artists, we can already experiment with new types of procedural creations based on new algorithms. These work with the use of logical gates, on probabilistic elements that are the qubits, and allow to experiment new concepts close to the microscopic reality of our world: the teleportation, the entanglement, the superposition of the states. What give a lot of creative inspiration. We try to propose some innovative experiments based on quantum cellular automata (QCA), and the use of qubits as elements of artistic representation (contained in Bloch spheres). We perform some experimental creations, playing with quantum paradoxes and possibilities, hazards and uncertainties.

A Quantum Algorithm for Deciding Graph 2-Coloring Problem in Embedded Systems

Jinfeng He, Yao Zhang, S. Z. Lin

At present, the computer is in the stage of rapid growth, and designers can make full use of high technology to visualize their inspiration.Due to the high growth of embedded system and the emergence of intelligent theory and microprocessor, robot technology has gained greater development opportunities. This text mainly studies the application of embedded system in robot vision, constructs a robot fuzzy control system combined with deep learning (DL), and applies it to robot-based collaborative interactive artistic design to realize intelligent innovation of collaborative interactive artistic design based on intelligent robot aided decision. The results of robot simulation show that the proposed collaborative interactive artistic design method for robots is flexible in design, fast and accurate in modeling and strong in real-time simulation, which provides reliable guidance for the innovation of artistic design mode based on artificial intelligence (AI).On this basis, the extended application of AI in artistic design is discussed.Compared with the traditional artistic creation, it has high working speed, completes the creation quickly, and can also carry out batch production with the help of molds.
