Abstract

This paper studies two DWDM schemes based on segmented and interleaved quantum and optical channels for DWDM-QKD system. Noises for the co-propagation are analyzed by simulation and experiment, and the co-switching is also experimentally demonstrated.

Experimental Investigation of Heterodyne Quantum Key Distribution in the S-Band Embedded in a Commercial DWDM System

Sebastian Kleis, Joachim Steinmayer, Rainer H. Derksen +1 more

The tolerance of continuous-variable quantum key distribution to co-propagating DWDM channels is investigated. For the experiments, the quantum channel is operated in the S-band and multiplexed with a commercial C-band DWDM system. It is shown that compared to previously proposed configurations, the number of co-propagating channels can be doubled.

Optimized Channel Allocation Scheme with Selective Noise Avoiding in DWDM-QKD System

To reduce impairments on quantum signals in DWDM-QKD system, we propose a channel allocation scheme which selectively avoids FWM according to degeneracy or non-degeneracy. Simulations show that our scheme can effectively suppress noise.

Comprehensive Study on CV/DV-QKD Co-propagation with Deployed C/C+L DWDM OTN

Dongchen Zhang, Nishan Wu, Baoluo Yan +7 more

Co-propagation of QKD and deployed OTN in shared fiber requires consideration various noise, including stimulated Raman scattering. This work systematically compares the transmission performance of CV/DV-QKD co-propagation with deployed DWDM C-100G/C+L-400G OTN signal.

We report the co-propagation, over 50 km of SSMF, of the quantum channel (1310 nm) of a QKD system with ~17 dBm total power of DWDM data channels (1550 nm range). A metric to evaluate Co-propagation Efficiency is proposed.

Experimental investigation of heterodyne quantum key distribution in the S-band or L-band embedded in a commercial C-band DWDM system

Sebastian Kleis, Joachim Steinmayer, Rainer H. Derksen +1 more

The tolerance of continuous-variable quantum key distribution to co-propagating DWDM channels is investigated. The quantum channel is operated in the S-band or L-band and multiplexed with a commercial C-band DWDM system. The results show that, compared to previously proposed configurations, the number of co-propagating channels can be doubled. At a fiber length of 25 km, 56 DWDM channels with a total launch power of 14.5 dBm are tolerated by the quantum channel.
