Slow Light Imaging Spectroscopy

Abstract
Slow Light Imaging Spectroscopy has the potential to provide high spectral resolution while preserving an imaging capability for Rayleigh, Raman and Thomson scattering. This paper examines the extinction ratio and optimum time delay associated with a rubidium vapor cell and Rayleigh/Mie scattering at 780nm. Extinction ratios of better than 1000 are measured, and it is expected that much greater extinction can be achieved with better optimized laser systems.
