Direct production of fermionic superfluids in a cavity-enhanced optical dipole trap

Tabea Bühler, Timo Zwettler, Gaia Bolognini +4 more

We present the production of quantum degenerate, superfluid gases of ^6 6 Li through direct evaporative cooling in a cavity-enhanced optical dipole trap. The entire evaporative cooling process is performed in a trap created by the TEM _{00} 00 mode of a Fabry-Pérot cavity, simultaneously driven on several successive longitudinal modes. This leads to near-complete cancellation of the inherent lattice structure along the axial direction of the cavity, as evidenced by the observation of long-lived dipole oscillations of the atomic cloud. We demonstrate the production of molecular Bose-Einstein condensates upon adiabatic conversion of a unitary Fermi gas evaporatively cooled in this trap. The lifetime and heating in the cavity trap are similar to those in a running wave dipole trap. Our system enables the optical production of ultracold samples using a total trap-laser power below 1W 1 W , leveraging the benefits of optical resonators as dipole traps in quantum gas research while maintaining a simple resonator design and minimizing additional experimental complexity.

The Design of Optical Mode Cleaner for Entangled Optical Resource

Zhu Shi, SU Xiao-long

In order to increase the entanglement of the entangled beams,we design an optical mode cleaner with three mirrors ring structure, which is applied to improve the beam quality and filter the excess noise of laser. The exprimental results show that the homemade optical mode cleaner satisfies the requirements of quantum optics expriments.

Optical dipole trap in a high-finesse micro-cavity

Tao Liu, Tiancai Zhang, Junmin Wang +2 more

Optical dipole potential in an inhomogeneous light field is an important method of realizing the laser cooling and trapping of single atoms. The optical dipole trap in the highfinesse microcavity is discussed, and different confi gur ations of optical potential composed of standing wave and vertical confined beam s are analyzed. It is shown that the submicron scale optical trap could be ob t ained in this microcavity with the potential depth of about mK. The strong cou pling of atom and the cavity mode can be realized. We also discuss the effect of laser line width on the depth of potential well.
