DOMAIN WALLS IN THE TRANSVERSE FIELD ISING SPIN GLASSES

Mai Suan Li, Marek Cieplak

Interfaces in Ising spin glasses in the transverse field are studied by the local mean field method. The quantum fluctuations are found to make the length of domain walls shorter and smoother and to reduce the fractal dimensionality of the wall. The domain wall are almost as narrow as in the classical Ising case.

MONTE CARLO STUDIES OF ISING SPIN GLASSES AND RANDOM FIELD SYSTEMS

Heiko Rieger

We review recent numerical progress in the study of finite dimensional strongly disordered magnetic systems like spin glasses and random field systems. In particular we report in some details results for the critical properties and the non-equilibrium dynamics of Ising spin glasses. Furthermore we present an overview over recent investigations on the random field Ising model and finally of quantum spin glasses.

3-D SPIN GLASSES AND ISING MODELS NEW METHODS ON NEW ARCHITECTURES

Gyan V Bhanot

I describe work on 3-d Spin Glasses and the 3-d Ising Model done in collaboration with Michael Creutz at BNL and Jan Lacki at IAS Princeton. We have developed novel techniques to study these systems that make use of parallel architectures. For 3-d spin glasses, our results give strong indication that there is no phase transition in the thermodynamic limit whereas for the Ising model, we are able to extend the weak coupling expansion of the average free energy to 50 excited bonds.
