Explaining Homeopathy with Quantum Electrodynamics

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Every living organism is an open system operating far from thermodynamic equilibrium and exchanging energy, matter and information with an external environment. These exchanges are performed through non-linear interactions of billions of different biological components, at different levels, from the quantum to the macro-dimensional. The concept of quantum coherence is an inherent property of living cells, used for long-range interactions such as synchronization of cell division processes. There is support from recent advances in quantum biology, which demonstrate that coherence, as a state of order of matter coupled with electromagnetic (EM) fields, is one of the key quantum phenomena supporting life dynamics. Coherent phenomena are well explained by quantum field theory (QFT), a well-established theoretical framework in quantum physics. Water is essential for life, being the medium used by living organisms to carry out various biochemical reactions and playing a fundamental role in coherent phenomena. METHODS: Quantum electrodynamics (QED), which is the relativistic QFT of electrodynamics, deals with the interactions between EM fields and matter. QED provides theoretical models and experimental frameworks for the emergence and dynamics of coherent structures, even in living organisms. This article provides a model of multi-level coherence for living organisms in which fractal phase oscillations of water are able to link and regulate a biochemical reaction. A mathematical approach, based on the eigenfunctions of Laplace operator in hyper-structures, is explored as a valuable framework to simulate and explain the oneness dynamics of multi-level coherence in life. The preparation process of a homeopathic medicine is analyzed according to QED principles, thus providing a scientific explanation for the theoretical model of "information transfer" from the substance to the water solution. A subsequent step explores the action of a homeopathic medicine in a living organism according to QED principles and the phase-space attractor's dynamics. RESULTS: According to the developed model, all levels of a living organism-organelles, cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, whole organism-are characterized by their own specific wave functions, whose phases are perfectly orchestrated in a multi-level coherence oneness. When this multi-level coherence is broken, a disease emerges. An example shows how a homeopathic medicine can bring back a patient from a disease state to a healthy one. In particular, by adopting QED, it is argued that in the preparation of homeopathic medicines, the progressive dilution/succussion processes create the conditions for the emergence of coherence domains (CDs) in the aqueous solution. Those domains code the original substance information (in terms of phase oscillations) and therefore they can transfer said information (by phase resonance) to the multi-level coherent structures of the living organism. CONCLUSIONS: We encourage that QED principles and explanations become embodied in the fundamental teachings of the homeopathic method, thus providing the homeopath with a firm grounding in the practice of rational medicine. Systematic efforts in this direction should include multiple disciplines, such as quantum physics, quantum biology, conventional and homeopathic medicine and psychology.

Towards a New Model of the Homeopathic Process Based on Quantum Field Theory

BACKGROUND: Quantum theory's notions of non-locality and entanglement have previously informed attempts to model the therapeutic process. Of these, Weak Quantum Theory (WQT) and Patient- Practitioner-Remedy (PPR) entanglement are developing into mathematically- based models of homeopathy. OBJECTIVE: The present study attempted to identify fundamental concepts within quantum field theory (QFT) that could be used to broaden the scope of PPR entanglement models, prior to constructing a more rigorous mathematical treatment. METHODS: In QFT, particles and forces are considered as fully interacting relativistic quantum matter and force fields, respectively. These interactions are visualized graphically as spacetime Feynman diagrams. Further, these interacting field systems can have ground states with broken symmetry; the so-called Higgs field being responsible for this symmetry breaking. In the new model, patient, practitioner and remedy are imagined as fully interacting quantum-like fields; patients and practitioners in terms of quantum matter-type fields, and remedies and diseases as quantum interaction-type fields. RESULTS: Disease manifestation by the Vital Force (Vf) could be an event similar to spontaneous symmetry breaking in QFT: the curative remedy acting to restore the broken symmetry of the Vf field. Entanglement between patient, practitioner, and remedy might be representable as Feynman-like diagrams. CONCLUSION: QFT demonstrates that quantum properties can be physical without being observable. Thus, an underlying similarity in discourse could exist between homeopathy and quantum theory which could be useful for modelling the homeopathic process. This preliminary investigation also suggested that key elements of previous quantum models of the homeopathic process, may become unified within this new QFT-type approach.

A New Model of Consciousness as a Quantum Field

The article proposes a new model of consciousness of living organisms, based on an extension of the de Broglie-Bohm theory, which is also meeting the principles of the Quantum Field Theory. In particular, the article starts from the consideration that living organisms are similar to open systems, operating far from the thermodynamic equilibrium: in fact, they are subjected to continuous internal flows and exchanges of energy, matter and information with the surrounding environments. On a deeper physical level, however, these exchanges are mediated by quantum wave oscillations and interactions, so that it is argued that living organisms are even operating far from quantum equilibrium. Therefore, leveraging on a prior art arguing that quantum theory might be a special case of a much wider physics, where systems are far from quantum equilibrium, the article proposes a wider perspective of the de Broglie-Bohm theory for modeling consciousness. Consciousness is modelled as a special quantum wave field whose associated potential is elaborated as active information by living organism and accounts, with different complexity levels, for consciousness phenomena in life. Moreover, the article proposes that the form or curvature of the consciousness wave field can be expressed in terms of Nambu Goldstone bosons condensations (as described in Quantum Field Theory) associated to symmetry breaking phenomena in living organisms.

INTRODUCTION This article is written with the intention of explaining the quantum physics of the process of potentisation of a homeopathic medicine. It is proposed as a theory at present, since it has not yet been scientifically proven to be correct by undergoing experimentation in a quantum scale research laboratory. This paper represents a revised version of this theory, since new information has come to light regarding the true nature of the quantum mechanics of the succussion process. I propose that the key to understanding how homeopathic medicines operate is through the understanding of quantum mechanics. When the understanding of quantum mechanics is applied to the process of homeopathic potentisation (i..e succussion and dilution), it is apparent how a homeopathic medicine is able to become increasingly more powerful (and thus potentially more curative) the more it is succussed and diluted. Of particular importance are the dynamics of electrons within the quantum state, since it is these free-standing fundamental particles that configure themselves in increasingly larger and larger numbers with each increasing orbital number, with each subsequent succussion process. With each increase in orbital size there is a concomitant increase in the energy of the atom, which represents an increase in the level of the homeopathic potency. Dr Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), the German medical doctor who founded homeopathy, discovered that in order for a homeopathic medicine to effect a cure it needed to be increasingly potentised or made increasingly powerful. This increase in potency takes place not only through the process of serial dilution but also through the process of serial succussion. I have come to understand that it is the dynamics of succussion and dilution at the quantum scale that are the keys that open the door to the mystery of exactly how a homeopathic medicine works within an organism. This theory of the quantum physics of the potentisation process will now be explained in detail.

From the Quantum to The Macroscopic Level A New Systemic Model for Our Complex System

As a Complex System, our body acts as a whole system connected to the environmental incitements. It is ordered, coherent, tries to maintain the least possible entropy, saving the greatest amount of energy. We can observe its active systemic response to environmental information both when it is healthy and ill. To explain the dynamics of the systemic regulative network a theoretical model is proposed, with a comprehensive approach that allows seeing the entire regulative syste m as a continuous unicuum. The paper analyzes two points of view: 1) the connections between the quantum level and the classical one, through some principles of the QFT and through the Coherence Domains. The system is modeled as a field described by the wa ve function, with synchronous and consistent events, driven in a global computing by the quantum potential Q. The quantum potential implies the non locality, and it needs only ultra weak waves to occur, so it explains how the rapid and global activation of the organism in response to punctiform information work. The initial hypothesis is that some consistent quantum phenomena are amplified through the systemic regulative network until they become macroscopic observable. This is possible because of Coherence Domains. 2) The reactions of the different systemic networks to perturbations/punctiform information, with the first attempt to model and measure information in biology, going beyond the Shannon and Turing theories. Hopfield Networks and an informational point of view are used to address the crucial informational and organizational role of proteins and nucleic acids. With this new frame we could develop innovative therapeutic strategies, and also evolve new experimental way to make our clinical observation more precise.

Application of quantum entanglement to explain the healing mechanism by highly diluted homoeopathic medicines

Background: The healing mechanism of highly diluted homoeopathic medicines (DHM) is not yet very clear. Objectives: Our objective is to apply the concepts of entropy, information, and quantum mechanical principle of entanglement to find a model for explaining the healing mechanism of DHM. Methodology: All living or non-living things are composed of dynamic microscopic quantum particles (electrons, protons, ions, etc.) which follow the basic properties of quantum mechanics such as quantum entanglement, superposition of quantum states and coherent interaction among these particles. The continuous change of thermodynamic entropies of the dynamic living cells leads to information change for cellular communication and to keep the cells living. It is assumed that the quantum particles associated with the medicine molecules are quantum mechanically entangled. Similar particles associated with the dynamic living cells are also quantum mechanically entangled. The entangled states of the particles associated with the medicinal molecules (ASMM) coherently interact with the corresponding entangled states of the quantum particles associated with the disease cells (AESDC). ‘Quantum swapping’ – a quantum mechanical technique, the entangled systems (states) may interact and produce a new entangled system (state). Results: The said interaction of ASMM and AESDC causes decoherence or breaking of relatively smaller number of AESDC states. This decoherence means no entropy change among the diseased cells. This means death of the disease cell leading to the cure of the disease. Conclusion: The quantum entangled states of the medicinal molecule itself carry the curative signatures of the medicine molecules and cure the disease.

The leading cause and foremost reason for mortality and morbidity in the world is a group known as Noncommunicable Diseases. The best approach to treat them is to evaluate and control the risk factors. There are shared by all these diseases leading to the existence of some meeting points behind all of them. There should be some key to acquire conditions that modify the cells homeostasis and impaired the cell physiology developing different diseases. Physics try to explain the nature of the phenomena that surround us, at first, at the level of our macroscopic perception. Quantum physics studied the atomic and subatomic particles and revolutionized the reality perception with paradoxical and weird concepts. Heisenberg's uncertainty principle established that it is not possible to determine the two characteristic properties of particles with accuracy; measurement affects the system and change it. Subatomic particles have a wave-particle duality that could be in a coherence statement, also can pass through high-energy barriers. Two subatomic particles are entangled, something happening over here can have an instantaneous effect over there, no matter how far away there are. All these concepts have tried to apply to biology and life sciences, especially when classical physics fails to give an accurate description. Quantum biology is behind photosynthesis, mitochondrial respiration, enzyme activity, the sense of smell, animal migration, heredity's fidelity, and consciousness. We can apply all these concepts to diseases pathogeny. So, we describe quantum phenomena in oxidative stress, calcification, signal transduction, vitamin D production, cancer mutations, and microbiome induced pathology. I want to propose that medicine also can be explained by applying quantum physics concepts. It is a new, hard to believe, and an incredible path to be built, but we need to open the treatment options to our patients with new perspectives.
