Probing and driving of spin and charge states in double quantum dot under the quench

N. S. Maslova, P. I. Arseyev, Vladimir N. Mantsevich

We have analyzed theoretically quenched dynamics of correlated double quantum dot (DQD) due to the switching "on" and "off" coupling to reservoirs. The possibility for controllable manipulation of charge and spin states in the double quantum dot was revealed and discussed. The proposed experimental scheme allows to prepare in DQD maximally entangled pure triplet state and to drive it to another entangled singlet state by tuning both applied bias and gate voltage. It was also demonstrated that the symmetry properties of the total system (double quantum dot coupled to electron reservoirs) allow to resolve the initially prepared two-electron states by detecting non-stationary spin-polarized currents flowing in both reservoirs and controlling the residual charge.

Autonomous Tuning and Charge-State Detection of Gate-Defined Quantum Dots

Jana Darulová, Sebastian Pauka, Nathan Wiebe +5 more

Automated tuning of gate-defined quantum dots is an essential step toward scaling up quantum computing with semiconductor qubits. The authors demonstrate an algorithm that can tune several devices without prior knowledge of their details. The approach taken here shows that simple machine-learning classifiers trained on experimental data and well-established tuning sequences are sufficient to remove human interaction, paving the way for autonomous initialization of semiconductor qubits.

Automated tuning of inter-dot tunnel coupling in double quantum dots

Cornelis Jacobus van Diepen, Pieter T. Eendebak, Bruno T. Buijtendorp +5 more

Semiconductor quantum dot arrays defined electrostatically in a 2D electron gas provide a scalable platform for quantum information processing and quantum simulations. For the operation of quantum dot arrays, appropriate voltages need to be applied to the gate electrodes that define the quantum dot potential landscape. Tuning the gate voltages has proven to be a time-consuming task, because of initial electrostatic disorder and capacitive cross-talk effects. Here, we report on the automated tuning of the inter-dot tunnel coupling in gate-defined semiconductor double quantum dots. The automation of the tuning of the inter-dot tunnel coupling is the next step forward in scalable and efficient control of larger quantum dot arrays. This work greatly reduces the effort of tuning semiconductor quantum dots for quantum information processing and quantum simulation.
