Abstract

In this paper, a quantum steganography protocol based on Brown entangled states is proposed. The new protocol adopts the CNOT operation to achieve the transmission of secret information by the best use of the characteristics of entangled states. Comparing with the previous quantum steganography algorithms, the new protocol focuses on its anti-noise capability for phase-flip noises, which proved its good security resisting on quantum noise. Furthermore, the covert communication of secret information in the quantum secure direct communication channel would not affect the normal information transmission process due to the new protocol's good imperceptibility. If the number of Brown states transmitted in cover protocol is many enough, the imperceptibility of the secret channel can be further enhanced. In aspect of capacity, the new protocol can further expand its capacity by combining with other quantum steganography protocols. Because the proposed protocol does not require the participation of the classic channel when it implements the transmission of secret information, it does not cause any additional information leakage and has good security. The detailed theoretical analysis shows the conclusions that the new protocol has good performance on imperceptibility, capacity and security.

Based on quantum identity authentication, a novel continuous variable quantum steganography protocol is proposed in this paper. It can effectively transmit deterministic secret information in the public quantum channel by taking full advantage of entanglement properties of continuous variable GHZ state. Compared with the existing quantum steganography results, this protocol has the advantages of good imperceptibility and easy implementation. Finally, the detailed performance analysis proves that the proposed protocol has not only these advantages, but also good security and information transmission efficiency, even under eavesdropping attacks, especially to the spectroscopic noise attack.

A novel quantum information hiding protocol based on entanglement swapping of high-level Bell states

Shujiang Xu, Xiu‐Bo Chen, Lianhai Wang +2 more

Using entanglement swapping of high-level Bell states, we first derive a covert layer between the secret message and the possible output results of the entanglement swapping between any two generalized Bell states, and then propose a novel high-efficiency quantum information hiding protocol based on the covert layer. In the proposed scheme, a covert channel can be built up under the cover of a high-level quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) channel for securely transmitting secret messages without consuming any auxiliary quantum state or any extra communication resource. It is shown that this protocol not only has a high embedding efficiency but also achieves a good imperceptibility as well as a high security.

With the development of Globe Energy Internet, quantum steganography has been used for information hiding to improve copyright protection. Based on secure quantum communication protocol, and flexible steganography, secret information is embedded in quantum images in covert communication. Under the premise of guaranteeing the quality of the quantum image, the secret information is transmitted safely with virtue of good imperceptibility. A novel quantum watermark algorithm is proposed in the paper, based on the shared group key value of the communication parties and the transmission of the selected carrier map pixel gray higher than 8 bits. According to the shared group key value of the communication parties, the two effective Bell state qubits of the carried quantum streak image are replaced with secret information. Compared with the existing algorithms, the new algorithm improves the robustness of the secret information itself and the execution efficiency of its embedding and extraction. Experimental simulation and performance analysis also show that the novel algorithm has an excellent performance in transparency, robustness and embedded capacity.

Quantum steganography with a large payload based on dense coding and entanglement swapping of Greenberger—Horne—Zeilinger states

Tian-Yu Ye, Li-zhen Jiang

A quantum steganography protocol with a large payload is proposed based on the dense coding and the entanglement swapping of the Greenberger—Horne—Zeilinger (GHZ) states. Its super quantum channel is formed by building up a hidden channel within the original quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) scheme. Based on the original QSDC, secret messages are transmitted by integrating the dense coding and the entanglement swapping of the GHZ states. The capacity of the super quantum channel achieves six bits per round covert communication, much higher than the previous quantum steganography protocols. Its imperceptibility is good, since the information and the secret messages can be regarded to be random or pseudo-random. Moreover, its security is proved to be reliable.

Quantum steganography for secure data transmission

Gabriela Mogos, Ho-Pun Lam

Abstract Quantum steganography is an advanced method of hiding information within quantum systems, leveraging the unique properties of quantum mechanics-such as superposition, entanglement, and the no-cloning theorem-to achieve unbreakable secrecy. Quantum steganography provides perfect secrecy against both classical and quantum hacking, making it a cutting-edge technology in cybersecurity. This paper introduces a quantum steganography technique that builds on the advantages of of Novel Enhanced Quantum Representation (NEQR) of digital imaging and integrates quantum-resistant solutions for secure (biometric) transmission, anti-spoofing, and privacy-preserving authentication. Our analysis and experiments have shown that our approach is robust against several types of attacks, and offers protection against both current and future threats while maintaining the steganographic property of imperceptibility and capacity, making it one of the best options for secret information transmission.

Effects of quantum noises on χ state-based quantum steganography protocol

Zhiguo Qu, Shengyao Wu, Le Sun +2 more

Since the good application of quantum mechanism in the field of communication, quantum secure communication has become a research hotspot. The existing quantum secure communication protocols usually assume that the quantum channel is noise-free. But the inevitable quantum noise in quantum channel will greatly interferes the transmission of quantum bits or quantum states, seriously damaging the security and reliability of the quantum system. This paper analyzes and discusses the performance of a χ state based steganography protocol under four main quantum noises, i.e., Amplitude Damping (AD), Phase damping (Phs), Bit Flip (BF) and Depolarizing (D). The results show that the protocol is least affected by amplitude damping noise when only the sender's first transmission in quantum channel is affected by quantum noise. Then, we analyze the performance of the protocol when both the sender's two transmissions are affected by quantum noise, and find that the specific combination of different noises will increase the performance of the protocol in quantum noisy channel. This means that an extra quantum noise can be intentionally added to quantum channel according to the noise intensity, so that the protocol can improve performance under the influence of quantum noises. Finally, the detailed mathematical analysis proves the conclusions.
