Abstract

The approximate analytical bound state solutions of the Schrӧdinger equation for the Frost-Musulin potential is found by using a suitable approximation scheme to the orbital centrifugal barrier via parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov method and supersymmetric approach. We have also calculated some expectation values. The ro-vibrational energy states for some diatomic molecules are calculated for arbitrary quantum numbers and with the model values of some parameters. The present results are in excellent agreement with the previous result obtained by Adepoju and Eweh.

Improved analytical approximation to arbitrary l-state solutions of the Schrödinger equation for the hyperbolical potentials

Sameer M. Ikhdair, R. Sever

The Schrodinger equation for the rotational-vibrational (ro-vibrational) motion of a diatomic molecule with empirical potential functions is solved approximately by means of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. The approximate ro-vibratinal energy spectra and the corresponding normalized total wavefunctions are calculated in closed form and expressed in terms of the hypergeometric functions or Jacobi polynomials P_{n}^{(\mu,\nu)}(x), where \mu>-1, \nu>-1 and x included in [-1,+1]. The s-waves analytic solution is obtained. The numerical energy eigenvalues for selected H_{2} and Ar_{2} molecules are also calculated and compared with the previous models and experiments.

Approximate eigensolutions of the attractive potential via parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov method

C. A. Onate, Olukayode Adebimpe, Adewale Folaranmi Lukman +3 more

The approximate analytical solutions of the non-relativistic Schrӧdinger equation for the Attractive potential model with the centrifugal term are investigated using the elegant methodology of the parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov. The energy equation and the corresponding un-normalized radial wave functions are obtained in a close and compact form after a proper Greene-Aldrich approximation scheme is applied. By changing the numerical values of some potential strengths, special cases of the Attractive potential are investigated in detail. The effects of the potential strengths and potential range respectively on the energy are also studied. The energy is found to be very sensitive to each of the potential parameters. Some theoretic quantities such as information energy, Rẻnyi entropy and Tsallis entropy.

Approximate solutions of the Schrödinger equation with Hulthén plus screened Kratzer Potential using the Nikiforov–Uvarov – functional analysis (NUFA) method: an application to diatomic molecules

Etido Patrick Inyang, Eddy Sunday William, Joseph Effiom-Edem Ntibi +3 more

The Schrödinger equation was solved for the Hulthén plus screened Kratzer Potential (HSKP) via the Nikiforov–Uvarov – functional analysis (NUFA) method. The bound-state energy and wave function for the HSKP were obtained in a closed form by applying the Greene–Aldrich approximation scheme to the inverse-square term. Using the resulting energy equation, we computed the energy spectra for 12 diatomic molecules (CuLi, TiH, VH, TiC, HCl, LiH, H2, ScH, CO, I2, N2, and NO) for various quantum states. To show the accuracy of our procedure, four special cases of the collective potential were obtained, and the results are in excellent agreement with the existing literature.

Thermodynamic Properties of Diatomic Molecules from the Frost-Musulin Potential

Mohammadjavad Parsanasab, Reza Khordad, Meysam Asadipour +2 more

In this study, we present a quantum-statistical analysis of H$_2$ and LiH diatomic molecules within the Frost--Musulin potential framework. By combining the analytical bound-state approach to the radial Schrödinger problem with the near-equilibrium Pekeris representation, we obtain a validated rotation-vibration spectrum that reproduces a physically consistent ordering of energy levels. These bound states are subsequently combined with standard translational and rotational ideal gas contributions to construct the total partition function and the corresponding thermodynamic observables of the ground state. The resulting formulation captures the Gibbs free energy deviation function for both molecules with high quantitative accuracy and provides chemically plausible trends for heat capacity and enthalpy increase over a wide temperature range. At the same time, residual errors become increasingly pronounced in derivative-sensitive quantities, particularly at high temperatures; this indicates that the dominant limitations now stem not from the local bound-state spectrum itself, but from the neglect of inelastic rotational, continuity contributions and dynamics close to dissociation. Consequently, the present results define the potential model as a compact and analytically tractable representation of the bound region, recovering a significant portion of the observed thermochemistry whilst also delineating the regime where more comprehensive molecular statistical mechanics is required.

Approximate bound energies of diatomic molecules interactions by solving Schrodinger equation case of the modified Kratzer plus Hulthen potential

Khalid Reggab

Abstract The equation of Schrodinger is a fundamental mathematical framework used to clarify the motion of the wave form, which is a phenomenon in the field of quantum physics. A method's wave function contains the complete description of its particles. The computational solution of the Schrodinger problem is a multifaceted problem. The eigenvalues and typical functions of the modified Kratzer plus Hulthen potential were ascertained analytically in this study. This study used an estimating approach that Nikiforov-Uvarov functional analysis had suggested for dealing with the problem. Estimating energy spectra and applying the results to certain specific diatomic molecules was the aim. The excellent results obtained from this strategy were confirmed by comparing our eigenvalue data with additional numerical data that was gathered by other researchers.
