Dynamics of two Rydbeg atoms successively interacting with a detuned thermal field

Abstract

The entanglement between two identical two-level atoms successively passing a vacuum or a thermal cavity has been investigated taking into account the detuning. The cases when atoms are initially prepared in the separable two-atom or Bell type entangled atomic states have been considered. It has been shown that thermal field can produce the entanglement between Rydberg atoms successively passing a cavity for all considered initial atomic states. For separable initial atomic states and vacuum state of the cavity the presence of detuning leads to decreasing of the degree of atomic entanglement. For entangled initial atomic states and vacuum state of the cavity the presence of detuning leads to decreasing of the entanglement amplitude oscillations. We have also derived that for thermal field the increasing of the mean photon number leads to decreasing of the entanglement, but the entanglement increases as the detuning increases. For thermal field and small detuning we have established that the effect of sudden death and birth of entanglement takes place and that for large detuning such effect vanishes. Results of the computer simulation are presented.

Entanglement between two Rydberg atoms induced by a thermal field

T. S Mastyugina, Eugene K. Bashkirov

We investigated two Rydberg atoms successively passing a vacuum or a thermal cavity taking into account the detuning. The atoms was assumed to be initially prepared in the Bell types entangled atomic states. Calculating the negativity we investigated the dynamics of atom-atom entanglement both for the vacuum and the thermal field. The special features of negativity behavior have been studied comprehensively foe small and large values of detunings. For thermal field and small detunings we established the effect of sudden death and birth of entanglement.

Dynamics of entanglement of atoms with two-photon transitions induced by a thermal field

Eugene K. Bashkirov

In this paper, we investigate the entanglement between two two-level atoms non-resonantly in-teracting with a thermal field of a lossless one-mode resonator via degenerate two-photon transi-tions. On the basis of the exact solution of the time-dependent density matrix we calculate the negativity as a measure of atomic entanglement. We show that for separable initial atomic states a slight atom-field detuning may generate the high amount of atom-atom entanglement. The re-sults also show that for non-resonant atom-field interaction the entanglement induced by nonlin-ear two-photon interaction is smaller than that induced by one-photon interaction in contrast to the resonant interaction situation. For a Bell-type entangled initial atomic state we obtain that if the detuning increases, there is an appreciable decrease in the amplitudes of the negativity oscilla-tions. The results also show that elimination of the sudden death of entanglement for non-resonant two-photon atom-field interaction may take place.

Dynamics for atoms successively passing a cavity in the presence of the initial atomic entanglement

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Michail S. Mastyugin

We investigated the dynamics of entanglement between atoms successively passing a cavity and interact with a thermal cavity field. We considered the situation when atoms are initially prepared in a pure entangled state. Using the exact solution of density matrix evolution we calculated the negativity for different values of cavity mean photon numbers. We shown the possibility to save the initial atomic entanglement even for a thermal cavity field with relatively high temperature.

Entanglement dynamics of two distant atoms in two detuning cavities

Xin Ji, Tianquan Lü, Shou Zhang

We investigate the entanglement dynamics via the concurrence of two distant atoms interacting off-resonantly with two cavity fields in Fock states, respectively. We find that the evolution of entanglement has sudden death and sudden birth phenomena, that with the increase of photon numbers in the two cavities, the alternate frequency of sudden death and sudden birth turns fast, and that the amplitude of concurrence oscillates regularly with oscillation frequency becoming slow when the cavity fields have the same photon numbers. While, the maximum of concurrence declines and the amplitude of concurrence oscillates irregularly when the two cavity fields have different photon numbers. In addition, we find the length of death time is dependent on the initial entanglement.

Dynamics of atom-atom entanglement in two-atom model with degenerate two-photon raman transitions

A. Othman, Eugene K. Bashkirov

The exact dynamics of a model consisting of two two-level atoms interacting with the electromagnetic field mode of an ideal resonator through degenerate Raman transitions are found for coherent and thermal field states. The exact solution is used to calculate atom-atom negativity. It is shown that for separable initial states of atoms, their interaction with the resonator field does not lead to the occurrence of atom-atom entanglement. It was found that for the Bell initial states of atoms in the case of a coherent resonator field, the effect of sudden death of entanglement takes place for large average values of the number of photons in the resonator, while in case of thermal noise, this effect is absent for any intensities of the resonator field.
