Abstract

Providing security to the Personal Health Record (PHR) stored in cloud is an important and critical task in recent days. Different cloud security mechanisms are developed in the traditional works for this purpose mainly focused on authentication based security. This paper aims to develop a novel key distribution and encryption mechanism namely, Quantum Key Distribution and Non-Abelian Encryption (QKD-NAE) for secure storage and access of PHR. In cloud environment, the hospital admin and user uses a quantum key for data access, where the users may be a doctor, patient, nurse, physicians, and accountants. The hospital admin uses the Diffie Hellman (DH) algorithm for secure secret generation, and every user separates the secret based on their designation. Then, the admin splits the input data into attributes and encrypts it by using NAE. When the user sends the request to the service provider, the access control policy maintained by the Third Party Auditor (TPA) is verified for data access. The valid user receives the data from multiple servers based on the access control policy created by the DH algorithm. The major advantage of this work is that the unauthorized users are not able to know the quantum key and the generated secret which leads to increased data security. The experimental results evaluate the performance of the existing and proposed techniques with respect to different measures.

A Novel Multi-Qubit Quantum Key Distribution Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption Model to Improve Cloud Security for Consumers

Kranthi Kumar Singamaneni, Ghulam Muhammad, Zulfiqar Ali

With the growing adoption of cloud computing, ensuring data security in cloud environments has become a critical concern for business organizations. Quantum cryptography utilizes the principles of quantum mechanics to guarantee secure communication, as any attempt to eavesdrop will change the quantum states, alerting the parties of the intrusion. This paper proposes a multi-qubit Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) for cloud security. The proposed multi-qubit QKD model for secure cloud data using quantum cryptography involves the use of a quantum key distribution protocol to generate a secure key for encryption and decryption. This protocol involves sending quantum signals through a quantum channel to distribute a secret key between the sender and the receiver. The key is then used for the encryption and decryption of data using the CP-ABE technique. This technique allows the encryption and decryption of data based on attributes rather than an explicit key exchange, making it particularly suitable for cloud environments where data is stored and processed by multiple users with varying levels of access. The positive results from the proposed simulation model suggest the potential of quantum cryptography in securing cloud data.

Enhancing Cloud Security with Secure Quantum Key Distribution (SQKD-CDS) for Data Protection

Kanegonda Ravi Chythanya, Ch. Srinivasa Reddy, Pallavi Shetty +3 more

This research develops SQKD-CDS as a Secure Quantum Key Distribution for Cloud Data Security model which strengthens cloud information protection. NAE and QKD technologies work together in the model to establish secure key-sharing and encryption systems. QKD transmits secret keys by quantum principles through secure channels to stop eavesdropping because of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. The encryption method applies non-commutative cryptographic structures which create a higher level of security protection. A secret key created through the Diffie-Hellman algorithm allows cloud administration personnel to authenticate with their users during mutual verification. The CloudSim tool proves that SQKD-CDS improves safety levels while shortening encryption and decryption processes along with enhancing storage capacity utilization. SQKD-CDS demonstrates superior performance through its lower QBER and faster key group times which reach 24.7 ms when implementing 50 files. The model provides protection against denial-of-service occurrences as well as man-in-the-middle breaches. SQKD-CDS reducing memory consumption to 135.5 KB while showing improved security characteristics to be considered as a quantum cryptographic solution for storing cloud data safely.

Sachin Kumar, S. Ravimaran, M. M. Gowthul Alam

Nowadays, succeeding safe communication and protection-sensitive data from unauthorized access above public networks are the main worries in cloud servers. Hence, to secure both data and keys ensuring secured data storage and access, our proposed work designs a Novel Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) relying upon a non-commutative encryption framework. It makes use of a Novel Quantum Key Distribution approach, which guarantees high level secured data transmission. Along with this, a shared secret is generated using Diffie Hellman (DH) to certify secured key generation at reduced time complexity. Moreover, a non-commutative approach is used, which effectively allows the users to store and access the encrypted data into the cloud server. Also, to prevent data loss or corruption caused by the insiders in the cloud, Optimized Genetic Algorithm (OGA) is utilized, which effectively recovers the data and retrieve it if the missed data without loss. It is then followed with the decryption process as if requested by the user. Thus our proposed framework ensures authentication and paves way for secure data access, with enhanced performance and reduced complexities experienced with the prior works.

An efficient poly-quantum integrity key generation based multi-user access control encryption and decryption framework for homogeneous and heterogeneous cloud EHR databases

Nagababu Garigipati, S Srithar, Vuyyuru Krishna Reddy

Cloud data security is a critical concern in the healthcare industry, particularly when it comes to protecting electronic health records (EHRs). To ensure that only authorized parties have access to sensitive patient information, it is necessary to employ secure key distribution, quantum key generation, and multi-user data encryption and decryption techniques. These techniques effectively prevent unauthorized access and insider attacks, thereby safeguarding EHRs stored in the cloud. The application of advanced cryptographic methods, such as AES and QKD, further enhances EHR security by providing protection against brute force attacks and other security threats. Prioritizing cloud data security is essential for maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, which requires a combination of advanced encryption methods and robust key management practices. Quantum key distribution (QKD) enables secure sharing of secret keys between two parties over an insecure communication channel, ensuring that only authorized entities can access sensitive patient information. In this work, a novel Poly-Quantum key generation method is implemented to enhance the integrity of the secret key generation process. Chaotic Poly-Quantum keys are used to generate integrity values of variable sizes for multi-user encryption and decryption operations. Consequently, an advanced multi-user quantum integrity-based multi-access control encryption and decryption approach is developed for homogeneous and heterogeneous electronic health records, aiming to enhance cloud data security. Scalability Evaluation: To assess performance in large-scale healthcare environments, comprehensive scalability testing should be conducted. This will validate the framework’s efficiency and reliability under extensive workloads. The proposed Poly-Quantum-based security model marks a significant advancement in cloud-based healthcare data protection, laying a foundation for future quantum-enhanced cryptographic solutions. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed poly quantum key integrity-based multi-user encryption and decryption framework exhibits superior optimization compared to conventional approaches on both homogeneous and heterogeneous EHR databases.
