Abstract

A quantum model for the interaction between asymmetric two two-level atoms and an electromagnetic field is presented. The [Formula: see text]-photon processes and atom–atom interaction are considered in this quantum model. The wavefunction for asymmetric case of the proposed model is obtained analytically. While, the explicit analytical formula of the wavefunction for symmetric case was calculated in previous works. Initially, the electromagnetic field is in the coherent state and two two-level atoms are identical in the excited states. For the proposed model, some statistical aspects are obtained, such as the linear entropy, atomic population inversion, entropy squeezing, atomic variance and von Neumann entropy. The evaluations of these statistical properties are discussed for the variation in the detuning parameters. Moreover, the nonclassical effects for atom–atom interaction are observed.

Isotropic-coupled oscillators interacting with a single atom via two-photon processes: quantum information aspects

M. Sebawe Abdalla, A.‐S. F. Obada, Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty

In the present paper we consider a nonlinear interaction between two electromagnetic field modes and a two-level atom. A new Hamiltonian model is introduced to represent such an interaction, where three coupling parameters are involved. We assume that the two-level atom interacts with each mode separately as well as with the two modes nonlinearly. Thus degenerate and non-degenerate processes are considered. Using a suitable canonical transformation and integrability condition the system is reduced to a single mode case. The density matrix is calculated and used to study the photon distribution, the atomic occupation probabilities, the von Neumann entropy and the entropy squeezing.

Quantum statistical characteristics of the interaction between two two-level atoms and radiation field

M. Sebawe Abdalla, Eied Mahmoud Khalil, A.‐S. F. Obada +2 more

A quantum optics model is considered where the cavity field interacts with two coupled atoms. The time-dependent wave function is obtained and used to derive the density matrix from which we discussed some statistical properties for the present system. The atom-atom entanglement, atoms-cavity entanglement, entropy and variance squeezing, the Pegg-Barrnet phase and the fidelity are discussed with the effects of the initial conditions, atom-atom coupling and the detuning parameter displayed. It is shown that an increase in the value of the atom-atom coupling parameter leads to an increase in the degree of entanglement. Numerical results show that under some conditions the phenomena of entanglement and the collapses and the revivals emerge. Nonclassical properties are demonstrated by means of the field quantum statistical characteristics, such as photon-number distribution, Husimi, Wigner and Glauber-Sudarshan quasidistributions and the corresponding variances.

On the interaction between a time-dependent field and a two-level atom

N. H. Abdel-Wahab, Ahmed Salah

In this paper, we study the interaction between the time-dependent field and a two-level atom with one mode electromagnetic field. We consider that the field of photons is assumed to be coupled with modulated coupling parameter which depends explicitly on time. It is shown that the considered model can be reduced to a well-known form of the time-dependent generalized Jaynes–Cummings model. Under special initial conditions, in which the atom and the field are prepared in the excited and the coherent states, respectively, the explicit time evolution of the wave function of the entire system is analytically obtained. Our proposal has many advantages over the previous optical schemes and can be realized in several multiple experiments, such as trapped ions and quantum electrodynamics cavity. The influence of the time-dependent field parameter on the collapses-revivals, the normal squeezing of the radiation, the anti-bunching of photons and the entanglement phenomena for the considered atomic system is examined. The linear entropy, the von Neumann entropy are used to quantify entanglement in the quantum systems. We noticed that these phenomena are affected by the existence of both the time-dependent coupling field and detuning parameters.

Entanglement and Other Nonclassical Properties of Two Two-Level Atoms Interacting with a Two-Mode Binomial Field: Constant and Intensity-Dependent Coupling Regimes

Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly, H. Hekmatara

Abstract In this paper, we consider the interaction between two two-level atoms and a two-mode binomial field with a general intensity-dependent coupling regime. The outlined dynamical problem has explicit analytical solution, by which we can evaluate a few of its physical features of interest. To achieve the purpose of the paper, after choosing a particular nonlinearity function, we investigate the quantum statistics, atomic population inversion and at last the linear entropy of the atom-field system which is a good measure for the degree of entanglement. In detail, the effects of binomial field parameters, in addition to different initial atomic states on the temporal behavior of the mentioned quantities have been analyzed. The results show that, the values of binomial field parameters and the initial state of the two atoms influence on the nonclassical effects in the obtained states through which one can tune the nonclassicality criteria appropriately. Setting intensity-dependent coupling function equal to 1 reduces the results to the constant coupling case. By comparing the latter case with the nonlinear regime, we will observe that the nonlinearity disappears the pattern of collapse-revival phenomenon in the evolution of Mandel parameter and population inversion (which can be seen in the linear case with constant coupling), however, more typical collapse-revivals will be appeared for the cross-correlation function in the nonlinear case. Finally, in both linear and nonlinear regime, the entropy remains less than (but close to) 0.5. In other words the particular chosen nonlinearity does not critically affect on the entropy of the system.

Pair entanglement of two-level atoms in the presence of a nondegenerate parametric amplifier

Eied Mahmoud Khalil, M. Sebawe Abdalla, A.‐S. F. Obada

The problem of two two-level atoms in interaction with a nondegenerate parametric amplifier is considered. The analytical solution of the wavefunction is obtained and used to derive the density matrix operator. The temporal evolution of the atomic inversion, the degree of entanglement, as well as the variance and entropy squeezing are discussed. In our analysis, we assumed that the atomic systems are in the excited states and the fields in the squeezed-pair coherent state. It has been shown that the coupling parameter, λ3 (the coupling between the two fields), gets more effective for the case in which the q-parameter is not equal to zero. Also for a strong coupling parameter λ3 the superstructure phenomenon can be observed. In the meantime, as we increase the value of the coupling parameter, the entanglement between the atoms and the fields gets stronger. Also it has been shown that in the presence of the parametric amplifier term, the system never reaches the pure state except during revival periods.

Sensitivity measurement for asymmetric two two-level atoms interacting with field obeys SU(1,1) Lie group via atomic inversion

Abdallah A. Nahla, M. M. A. Ahmed

A quantum optics model of the asymmetric case of the interaction between two two-level atoms and quantum field, which obeys SU(1,1) Lie group, is proposed. The atom-atom interaction and the rotating wave approximation are suggested in the Hamiltonian operator. Our aim is to obtain the time-dependent wave function of asymmetric case analytically. The analytical method is based on the eigenvalues and corresponding eigenvectors of the coefficient matrix of the interaction Hamiltonian operator. The SU(1,1) quantum system is initially in the Perelomov coherent state. Therefore, the atomic inversion is obtained and discussed for different values of model parameters such as initial atomic angles, Perelomov coherent, the Bargmann index and the detuning parameters. Observe that the quantum optics model is sensitive to the variation in both the Perelomov coherent parameter and the Bargmann index. In addition, there are nonclassical properties of the proposed quantum model in the presence the detuning parameter changes.
