Abstract

Under uncertain environment, it is very difficult to measure the entropy of quantum information system, because there is no effective method to model the randomness. First, different from the traditional classic uncertainty, a quantum uncertain model is proposed to simulate a quantum information system under uncertain environment, and to simplify the entropy measurement of quantum information system. Second, different from the classic random seed under uncertain environment which is often called as pseudo-random number, here the quantum random is employed to provide us a true random model for the entropy of quantum information system. Third, the complex interaction and entangling activity of uncertain factors of quantum information is modeled as quantum binary instead of classic binary, which can help us to evaluate the entropy of uncertain environment, to analyze the entropy divergence in quantum information system. This work presents a non-classic risk factor measurement for quantum information system and a helpful entropy measurement.

Non-Classical Correlation Entropy as a Measure of Quantum State Measurement Trustworthiness

Jincheng Zhang

This paper introduces a novel method for assessing the trustworthiness of quantum state measurement results based on non-classical correlation entropy. The core idea revolves around quantifying the correlation within quantum states using this entropy measure. By analyzing the associated entropy, we can evaluate the reliability of measurement outcomes and subsequently propose corrective and optimization strategies. Traditional approaches to quantum measurement uncertainty often rely on probabilistic interpretations and lack a direct quantification of the inherent correlations within the quantum state itself. This work aims to bridge this gap by providing a framework for assessing trustworthiness rooted in the fundamental properties of quantum entanglement and correlation. We present a detailed mathematical formulation, focusing on the calculation of the non-classical correlation entropy and its application to evaluating measurement confidence. The methodology offers a potentially valuable tool for guiding decision-making in quantum information processing, particularly in scenarios where the precise characterization of the quantum state is challenging. Further investigation into the sensitivity of the method to various noise sources and its scalability for complex quantum systems is warranted. ---

Characterization of the measurement uncertainty dynamics in an open system

Xi-Hao Fang, Fei Ming, Dong Wang

Uncertainty principle plays a crucial role in quantum mechanics, because it captures the essence of the inevitable randomness associated with the outcomes of two incompatible quantum measurements. Information entropy can perfectly describe this type of randomness in information theory, because entropy can measure the degree of chaos in a given quantum system. However, the quantum-assisted uncertainty of entropy eventually inflate inevitably as the quantum correlations of the system are progressively corrupted by noise from the surrounding environment. In this paper, we investigate the dynamical features of the von Neumann entropic uncertainty in the presence of quantum memory, exploring the time evolution of entropic uncertainty suffer noise from the surrounding. Noteworthily, how the environmental noises affect the uncertainty of entropy is revealed, and specifically we verify how two types of noise environments, AD channel and BPF channel, influence the uncertainty. Meanwhile, we put forward some effective operation strategies to reduce the magnitude of the measurement uncertainty under the open systems. Furthermore, we explore the applications of the uncertainty relation investigated on entanglement witness and quantum channel capacity. Therefore , in open quantum correlation systems, our investigations could provide an insight into quantum measurement estimation

Mutual Entropy in Quantum Information and Information Genetics

Masanori Ohya

After Shannon, entropy becomes a fundamental quantity to describe not only uncertainity or chaos of a system but also information carried by the system. Shannon's important discovery is to give a mathematical expression of the mutual entropy (information), information transmitted from an input system to an output system, by which communication processes could be analyzed on the stage of mathematical science. In this paper, first we review the quantum mutual entropy and discuss its uses in quantum information theory, and secondly we show how the classical mutual entropy can be used to analyze genomes, in particular, those of HIV.

Review on entropic uncertainty relations

Lijuan Li, Fei Ming, Xue‐Ke Song +2 more

The Heisenberg uncertainty principle is one of the characteristics of quantum mechanics. With the vigorous development of quantum information theory, uncertain relations have gradually played an important role in it. In particular, in order to solved the shortcomings of the concept in the initial formulation of the uncertainty principle, we brought entropy into the uncertainty relation, after that, the entropic uncertainty relation has exploited the advantages to the full in various applications. As we all know the entropic uncertainty relation has became the core element of the security analysis of almost all quantum cryptographic protocols. This review mainly introduces development history and latest progress of uncertain relations. After Heisenberg's argument that incompatible measurement results are impossible to predict, many scholars, inspired by this viewpoint, have made further relevant investigations. They combined the quantum correlation between the observable object and its environment, and carried out various generalizations of the uncertainty relation to obtain more general formulas. In addition, it also focuses on the entropy uncertainty relationship and quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation, and the dynamic characteristics of uncertainty in some physical systems. Finally, various applications of the entropy uncertainty relationship in the field of quantum information are discussed, from randomnesss to wave-particle duality to quantum key distribution.

Quantum Information Entropy: A Generalized Definition

Jincheng Zhang

This paper introduces a generalized definition of quantum information entropy, aiming to provide a more comprehensive framework for quantifying information in complex quantum systems. The core of this work lies in extending the conventional concept of entropy, traditionally applied to classical information, to the realm of quantum mechanics. We explore various types of quantum entropy, including von Neumann entropy, relative entropy, and a newly proposed generalized entropy, denoted as *Eg*. The definition of *Eg* is based on a novel approach that considers the entanglement structure and correlations within quantum states. We establish relationships between these different entropy measures, demonstrating their interconnectedness within the broader context of quantum information theory. The paper further outlines a mathematical formalism for calculating *Eg*, providing a tool for analyzing and characterizing quantum information. Our generalized entropy provides a more flexible and potentially more accurate measure of quantum information, particularly in scenarios involving complex quantum correlations and multi-partite quantum systems. ---

Non-Classical Information Entropy: A Statistical Physics Perspective

Jincheng Zhang

This paper introduces a novel definition of non-classical information entropy, rooted in the principles of statistical physics, particularly quantum mechanics. The core premise is that traditional information entropy, derived from classical probability theory, is insufficient to capture the essence of information within non-classical systems exhibiting phenomena such as superposition and entanglement. We propose a definition based on the concept of accessible states and their associated probabilities, extending the notion of entropy beyond the realm of purely deterministic systems. The paper details the mathematical formulation of this non-classical information entropy, denoted as *Hnc*, and presents a method for its calculation. The method relies on identifying the set of accessible states for a given system and then applying a generalized form of Shannon's entropy formula, modified to account for the inherent uncertainties associated with quantum mechanics. The resulting *Hnc* provides a quantitative measure of the information content within non-classical systems, offering a potential framework for studying information processing and dynamics in quantum environments. The key contribution lies in bridging the gap between information theory and non-classical statistical physics, offering a new lens through which to understand information in quantum systems.
