The dynamics of entropy uncertainty for qutrit system under the random telegraph noise

Abstract

We study the dynamics of quantum memory assist entropy uncertainty for qutrit system coupled to an environment modeled by random matrices. The results show that the effect of relative coupling strength on entropy uncertainty is opposite in Markov region and non-Markov region, and the influence of a common environment and independent environments in Markov region and non-Markov region is also opposite. One can reduce the entropy uncertainty by decreasing relative coupling strength or puting the system in two separate environments in the Markov case. In the non-Markov case, the entropy uncertainty can be reduced by increasing the relative coupling strength or by placing the system in a common environment.

Dynamics of entropic uncertainty for three types of three-level atomic systems under the random telegraph noise*

Xiong Xu, Mao-Fa Fang

We study the dynamics of the entropic uncertainty for three types of three-level atomic systems coupled to an environment modeled by random matrices. The results show that the entropic uncertainty in the Ξ-type atomic system is lower than that in the V-type atomic system which is exactly the same as that in the Λ-type atomic system. In addition, the effect of relative coupling strength on entropic uncertainty is opposite in Markov region and non-Markov region, and the influence of a common environment and independent environments in Markov region and non-Markov region is also opposite. One can reduce the entropic uncertainty by decreasing relative coupling strength or placing the system in two separate environments in the Markov case. Reduction of entropy uncertainty for qutrit system under non-Markov noisy environment*

Xiong Xu, Mao-Fa Fang

We explore the entropy uncertainty for qutrit system under non-Markov noisy environment and discuss the effects of the quantum memory system and the spontaneously generated interference (SGI) on the entropy uncertainty in detail. The results show that, the entropy uncertainty can be reduced by using the methods of quantum memory system and adjusting of SGI. Particularly, the entropy uncertainty can be decreased obviously when both the quantum memory system and the SGI are simultaneously applied.

Effect of random telegraph noise on entanglement and nonlocality of a qubit-qutrit system

Hakimeh Jaghouri, Samira Nazifkar

We study the evolution of entanglement and nonlocality of a non-interacting qubit-qutrit system under the effect of random telegraph noise (RTN) in independent and common environments in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. We investigate the dynamics of qubit-qutrit system for different initial states. These systems could be existed in far astronomical objects. A monotone decay of the nonlocality (entanglement) is found in the Markov regime, while for non-Markovian noise, phenomena of sudden change (death) and revival occurs. We find that the preserving nonlocality (entanglement) depends on initial state of the system in common and independent environments; so, we can not strictly conclude that independent or common environments are more robust against the noise.

Entropic uncertainty and quantum correlations dynamics in a system of two qutrits exposed to local noisy channels

Atta Ur Rahman, Mahmoud Youssef Abd‐Rabbou, S. M. Zangi +1 more

Abstract We address the dynamics of the lower bound of geometric quantum discord and quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty in a two-qutrit system when exposed to classical channels characterized by power-law (PL) and random telegraph (RT) noises. The system-channel coupling strategy is examined in two contexts: common qutrit-environment (CQE) and different qutrit-environment (DQE) configurations. We show that the geometric quantum discord functions remain anti-correlated with entropic uncertainty and decline as uncertainty appears in the system. The rate of entropic uncertainty appearance seems more prevalent than the decline rate of quantum discord function, suggesting that uncertainty causes the quantum correlations to fade in quantum systems. We find that non-local correlations estimated by the lower bound of geometric quantum discord are not destroyed even at the maximum entropic disorder and entropic uncertainty. In addition, the efficacy of entropic uncertainty and the lower bound is strongly influenced by the state’s purity factor, with the former being more robust at higher purity values and the latter at lower purity values. All the parameters impact entropic uncertainty, however, the mixedness of the state is noticed to greatly alter the generation of quantum memory. Besides, PL noise caused Markovian behavioral dynamics, and the RT noise allowed non-Markovian dynamics, while the latter remains more resourceful for the quantum correlations preservation and entropic uncertainty suppression. We also demonstrate how to model longer quantum correlations and provide optimal parameter settings for suppressing the dephasing and entropic uncertainty effects.

Observation of quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty relation under open systems, and its steering

Pengfei Chen, Wen‐Yang Sun, Fei Ming +3 more

Abstract Quantum objects are susceptible to noise from their surrounding environments, interaction with which inevitably gives rise to quantum decoherence or dissipation effects. In this work, we examine how different types of local noise under an open system affect entropic uncertainty relations for two incompatible measurements. Explicitly, we observe the dynamics of the entropic uncertainty in the presence of quantum memory under two canonical categories of noisy environments: unital (phase flip) and nonunital (amplitude damping). Our study shows that the measurement uncertainty exhibits a non-monotonic dynamical behavior—that is, the amount of the uncertainty will first inflate, and subsequently decrease, with the growth of decoherence strengths in the two channels. In contrast, the uncertainty decreases monotonically with the growth of the purity of the initial state shared in prior. In order to reduce the measurement uncertainty in noisy environments, we put forward a remarkably effective strategy to steer the magnitude of uncertainty by means of a local non-unitary operation (i.e. weak measurement) on the qubit of interest. It turns out that this non-unitary operation can greatly reduce the entropic uncertainty, upon tuning the operation strength. Our investigations might thereby offer an insight into the dynamics and steering of entropic uncertainty in open systems.
