Investigation of Bose-Einstein Condensates in q -Deformed Potentials with First Order Perturbation Theory

Abstract

Abstract The Gross-Pitaevskii equation, which is the governor equation of Bose-Einstein condensates, is solved by first order perturbation expansion under various q-deformed potentials. Stationary probability distributions reveal one and two soliton behavior depending on the type of the q-deformed potential. Additionally a spatial shift of the probability distribution is found for the dark soliton solution, when the q parameter is changed.

One dimensional Bose–Einstein condensate under the effect of the extended uncertainty principle

Abderrahmane Benhadjira, Abdelhakim Benkrane, Omar Bentouila +2 more

Abstract In this study, an analytical investigation was conducted to assess the effects of the extended uncertainty principle (EUP) on a Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) described by the deformed one-dimensional Gross–Pitaevskii equation (GPE). Analytical solutions were derived for null potential while we used variational and numerical methods for a harmonic oscillator potential. The effects of EUP on stability, probability density, position, and momentum uncertainties of BEC are analyzed. The EUP is found to be applicable for the free dark soliton solution and in the presence of a harmonic potential within specific ranges of the deformation parameter α, while it is not valid for the free bright soliton solution.

Solitons in One-Dimensional Bose–Einstein Condensate with Higher-Order Interactions*

Ying Wang, Wei Wang, Shuyu Zhou

Abstract We model a one-dimensional Bose–Einstein condensate with the one-dimensional Gross–Pitaevskii equation (1D GPE) incorporating higher-order interaction effects. Based on the F-expansion method, we analytically solve the 1D GPE, identifying the typical soliton solution under certain experimental settings within the general wave-like solution set, and demonstrating the applicability of the theoretical treatment that is employed .

Dissipative dynamics of dark solitons in elongated Bose–Einstein condensates

Tang Zheng-Hua, Yan Jia-Ren, Linghong Liu

The dissipative dynamic stability is investigated of dark solitons in elongated Bose–Einstein condensates that can be described by the Gross–Pitaevskii equation including an additional term. Based on the direct perturbation theory for the nonlinear Schrodinger equation, the dependence of the soliton velocity on time is explicitly given, and the shape of dark solitons remaining unchanged under the dissipative condition is confirmed theoretically for the first time. It is found that the dynamically stable dark solitons turn out to be thermodynamically unstable.

Dynamics of Bright/Dark Solitons in Bose–Einstein Condensates with Time-Dependent Scattering Length and External Potential

Ai‐Xia Zhang, Xue Ju-Kui

We present an analytical study on the dynamics of bright and dark solitons in Bose–Einstein condensates with time-varying atomic scattering length in a time-varying external parabolic potential. A set of exact soliton solutions of the one-dimensional Gross–Pitaevskii equation are obtained, including fundamental bright solitons, higher-order bright solitons, and dark solitons. The results show that the soliton's parameters (amplitude, width, and period) can be changed in a controllable manner by changing the scattering length and external potential. This may be helpful to design experiments.

Degenerate ground states and stability of spatial solitons in quasi-one-dimensional Bose-Einstein Condensates

Alain M. Dikandé

By examining the bound-state spectra of transverse fluctuations about one-dimensional, spatially localized dark and bright soliton wavetrains of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation, it is established that the low-temperature ground states of repulsive and attractive quasi-one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensates are degenerate. In the one-soliton limit, both ground states are shown to possess two distinct transverse fluctuation modes which can couple to the spatial soliton: the first involves zero-energy exchange, costing only the soliton shape dressing via uniform translation of its centre of mass. The second mode contributes in a negative energy for the repulsive case, but positive energy in the attractive case. This unstability of the repulsive spatial soliton against localized transverse fluctuation modes invalidates the Gross-Pitaevskii equation for stationary solitonic processes in repulsive 1D Bose-Einstein-Condensate systems.

q-deformed Bose statistics and the Gross–Pitaevskii equation

Mahnaz Maleki, Zahra Ebadi, Hosein Mohammadzadeh

In continuation of our earlier work on the nonextensive form of the Gross–Pitaevskii equation (GPE) [M. Maleki, H. Mohammadzadeh and Z. Ebadi, Int. J. Geom. Methods Mod. Phys. 20 (2023) 2350216], we now delve into its [Formula: see text]-deformed counterpart. GPE is a type of nonlinear partial differential equation that is specifically designed to describe the behavior of a group of particles with Bose–Einstein statistics, such as atoms in a superfluid or a Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC). In some systems, the standard Bose–Einstein or Fermi–Dirac statistics may not apply, and generalized statistics may be needed to describe the behavior of the particles. Therefore in this paper, we investigate the dynamics of a system with particle obeying [Formula: see text]-deformed statistics described by the [Formula: see text]-deformed GPE. First, we use the oscillator algebra and [Formula: see text]-calculus to obtain the well-known Schrödinger equation. By selecting an appropriate Hamiltonian for the condensate phase and minimizing the free energy, we derive the [Formula: see text]-deformed time-independent GPE.
