Mixed Entangled Coherent Channel for Quantum Information Processing

Abstract

We study an entangled two-mode coherent state within the framework of $2\\times 2$ dimensional Hilbert space and suggest a scheme to teleport a coherent superposition state. When the entangled coherent state decays into the vacuum, it is found that its evolved state always remains entangled and the larger the coherent amplitude, the faster entanglement decreases. We find that the decohered entangled coherent state can be useless in quantum teleportation as it gives the optimal fidelity of teleportation less than the classical limit 2/3.

Quantum-information processing for a coherent superposition state via a mixedentangled coherent channel

An entangled two-mode coherent state is studied within the framework of 2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}2-dimensional Hilbert space. An entanglement concentration scheme based on joint Bell-state measurements is worked out. When the entangled coherent state is embedded in vacuum environment, its entanglement is degraded but not totally lost. It is found that the larger the initial coherent amplitude, the faster entanglement decreases. We investigate a scheme to teleport a coherent superposition state while considering a mixed quantum channel. We find that the decohered entangled coherent state may be useless for quantum teleportation as it gives the optimal fidelity of teleportation less than the classical limit 2/3.

Teleportation via an Entangled Coherent Channel and Decoherence Effect on This Channel

Ardalan Fatahizadeh, Ardeshir Rabeie

We study an entangled two-mode coherent state within the framework of2×2-dimensional Hilbert space. We investigate the problem of quantum teleportation ofa superposition coherent state via an entangled coherent channel. By three differentmeasures with the titles ``minimum assured fidelity (MASF)”, ``average teleportationfidelity” and ``optimal fidelity (f)” we study the quality of this kind of teleportation.Decoherence properties of the entangled coherent state due to channel losses areanalysed. For a symmetric noise channel, the degradation of optimal fidelity and degreeof entanglement are calculated. Also by two different measures with the titles``concurrence” and ``entanglement of formation” we study the amount of entanglementof a decohered quantum channel and discuss its details. We demonstrate thatentanglement of the decohered entangled coherent state is reduced but not throughlylost. Finally we find that the optimal fidelity of the decohered entangled coherent state ismore than the classical limit and the decohered entangled coherent state may be usefulfor quantum teleportation.

Teleportation of a coherent superposition state via a nonmaximally entangled coherent channel

Yi-Zhuang Zheng, Yongjian Gu, Guang‐Can Guo

We investigate the problem of teleportation of a superposition coherent state via a nonmaximally entangled coherent channel. Two strategies are considered to complete the task. The first one uses entanglement concentration to purify the channel to a maximally entangled one. The second one teleports the state through the nonmaximally entangled coherent channel directly. We find that the probabilities of successful teleportation for the two strategies depend on the amplitudes of the coherent states, and the mean fidelity of teleportation using the first strategy is always less than that using the second strategy.

Optimal conclusive teleportation of quantum states

Luis Roa, A. Delgado, Ivette Fuentes

Quantum teleportation of qudits is revisited. In particular, we analyze the case where the quantum channel corresponds to a nonmaximally entangled state and show that the success of the protocol is directly related to the problem of distinguishing nonorthogonal quantum states. The teleportation channel can be seen as a coherent superposition of two channels, one of them being a maximally entangled state, thus leading to perfect teleportation, and the other, corresponding to a nonmaximally entangled state living in a subspace of the d-dimensional Hilbert space. The second channel leads to a teleported state with reduced fidelity. We calculate the average fidelity of the process and show its optimality.
