Teleportation in an expanding space

Abstract

We investigate the quantum teleportation between a conformal detector Alice and an inertial detector Bob in de Sitter space in two schemes, (i) one uses free scalar modes and (ii) one utilizes cavity to store qubit. We show that the fidelity of the teleportation is degraded for Bob in both cases. While the fidelity-loss is due to the Gibbons-Hawking effect associated with his cosmological horizon in the scheme (i), the entanglement decreases in the scheme (ii) because the ability to entangle the cavities is reduced by the spacetime curvature. With a cutoff at Planck-scale, comparing with the standard Bunch-Davies choice, we also show that the possible Planckian physics cause extra modifications to the fidelity of the teleportation protocol in both schemes.

Alice and Bob in an expanding spacetime

Helder Alexander, Gustavo de Souza, Paul R. W. Mansfield +1 more

We investigate the teleportation of a qubit between two observers Alice and Bob in an asymptotically flat Robertson-Walker expanding spacetime. We use scalar or fermionic field modes inside Alice's and Bob's ideal cavities and show the degradation of the teleportation quality, as measured by the fidelity, through a mechanism governed by spacetime expansion. This reduction is demonstrated to increase with the rapidity of the expansion and to be highly sensitive to the coupling of the field to spacetime curvature, becoming considerably stronger as it reduces from conformal to minimal. We explore a perturbative approach in the cosmological parameters to compute the Bogoliubov coefficients in order to evaluate and compare the fidelity degradation of fermionic and scalar fields.

Quantum teleportation in expanding FRW universe

Babak Vakili

We investigate the process of quantum teleportation in an expanding universe modeled by Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime, focusing on two cosmologically relevant scenarios: a power-law expansion and the de Sitter universe. Adopting a field-theoretical approach, we analyze the quantum correlations between two comoving observers who share an entangled mode of a scalar field. Using the Bogoliubov transformation, we compute the teleportation fidelity and examine its dependence on the expansion rate, initial entanglement, and the mode frequency. Our findings indicate that spacetime curvature and the underlying cosmological background significantly affect the efficiency of quantum teleportation, particularly through mode mixing and vacuum structure. We also compare our results with the flat Minkowski case to highlight the role of cosmic expansion in degrading or preserving quantum information.

Relativistic quantum teleportation protected by the anti-Unruh effect

Reza Hamzehofi, Davood Afshar, Mehrzad Ashrafpour

The interaction of an accelerated observer with a quantum field can modify the entanglement and quantum information shared between observers, thereby affecting quantum communication in non-inertial frames. We formulate the standard teleportation protocol in a relativistic setting where Alice remains inertial while Rob undergoes uniform acceleration and is modeled as an Unruh-DeWitt detector locally coupled to a massive scalar field. The detector-field interaction initially leads to a loss of entanglement and quantum information shared between Alice and Rob. Remarkably, under acceleration, the anti-Unruh regime can reverse this degradation, leading to an increase in both the shared entanglement and the accessible quantum information. We further find that, in the anti-Unruh regime, the teleportation fidelity is independent of the local free-evolution time of Alice's and Rob's states. At high accelerations, the recovered entanglement and quantum information enhance the teleportation fidelity, which approaches unity under appropriate conditions. These results demonstrate that the anti-Unruh effect can protect and recover quantum entanglement and information in a non-inertial frame by reducing the detector's effective temperature and the associated decoherence.

Quantum entanglement and teleportation in higher dimensional black hole spacetimes

Xian-Hui Ge, Sang Pyo Kim

We study the properties of quantum entanglement and teleportation in the background of stationary and rotating curved spacetimes with extra dimensions. We show that a maximally entangled Bell state in an inertial frame becomes less entangled in curved space due to the well-known Hawking–Unruh effect. The degree of entanglement is found to be degraded with the increase in the extra dimensions. For a finite black hole surface gravity, the observer may choose a higher frequency mode to keep high level entanglement. The fidelity of quantum teleportation is also reduced because of the Hawking–Unruh effect. We discuss the fidelity as a function of extra dimensions, mode frequency, black hole mass and black hole angular momentum parameter for both bosonic and fermionic resources.

Quantum Teleportation via Entangled State of Light in Schwarzschild Black Hole

Sevda Mirzaei, Amin Rezaei Akbarieh

Abstract In this paper, we describe the properties of quantum entanglement and teleportation between Alice and Bob who is freely falling toward the Schwarzschild black hole. To this aim, in the flat Minkowski spacetime before a black hole is formed, Alice and Bob share a two-mode entangled coherent state (ECS) generated by Kerr medium and the beam splitter. We will show that the degree of entanglement decreases with increasing the radius of black hole r. Moreover, the fidelity of quantum teleportation via ECS, as a quantum channel, is also reduced because of the Hawking-Unruh effect.
