Abstract

We analyze the time evolution of two kinds of coherent states for a particle in a P\"oschl-Teller potential. We find a pair of canonically conjugate operators and compare the behavior of their time evolution for both coherent states. The nonlinear ones are more localized. The trajectory in the phase space of the mean values of these two operators is a kind of generalization of the Rose algebraic curves. The new pair of canonically conjugate variables leads to a fourth-order Schr\"odinger equation which has the same energy spectrum as the P\"oschl-Teller system.

Phase-space behavior of physical nonlinear coherent states

Abstract In this paper, we construct the generalized su(1, 1) nonlinear coherent states for particular physical systems. We study the behavior of the Wigner function for coherent states built from differential operators that satisfy either a generalized Heisenberg algebra or a generalized su(1, 1) nonlinear algebra. The systems studied are the harmonic oscillator and those ones associated with Pöschl-Teller potentials. The results show that the Wigner function for the associated nonlinear coherent states is positive for small values of their convergence radius. Furthermore, the Wigner function for these coherent states depends on the corresponding algebraic structure.

Coherent states of the Pöschl–Teller potential and their revival dynamics

Utpal Roy, J Banerji, P K Panigrahi

A recently developed algebraic approach for constructing coherent states for solvable potentials is used to obtain the displacement operator coherent state of the Pöschl–Teller potential. We establish the connection between this and the annihilation operator coherent state and compare their properties. We study the details of the revival structure arising from different time scales underlying the quadratic energy spectrum of this system.

Semi-classical behavior of Pöschl-Teller coherent states

Hervé Bergeron, Jean‐Pierre Gazeau, Petr Siegl +1 more

We present a construction of semi-classical states for Pöschl-Teller potentials based on a supersymmetric quantum mechanics approach. The parameters of these "coherent" states are points in the classical phase space of these systems. They minimize a special uncertainty relation. Like standard coherent states they resolve the identity with a uniform measure. They permit to establish the correspondence (quantization) between classical and quantum quantities. Finally, their time evolution is localized on the classical phase space trajectory.

Research Article Orthogonal polynomials attached to coherent states for the symmetric Pöschl–Teller oscillator

Khalid Ahbli, Patrick Kayupe Kikodio, Zouhaı̈r Mouayn

We consider a one-parameter family of nonlinear coherent states by replacing the factorial in coefficients zn/n! of the canonical coherent states by a specific generalized factorial xnγ!, γ≥0. These states are superposition of eigenstates of the Hamiltonian with a symmetric Pöschl–Teller potential depending on a parameter ν>1. The associated Bargmann-type transform is defined for γ=ν. Some results on the infinite square well potential are also derived. For some different values of γ, we discuss two sets of orthogonal polynomials that are naturally attached to these coherent states.

Coherent states for exactly solvable potentials

T. Shreecharan, Prasanta Kumar Panigrahi, J. Banerji

A general algebraic procedure for constructing coherent states of a wide class of exactly solvable potentials, e.g., Morse and P\"oschl-Teller, is given. The method, a priori, is potential independent and connects with earlier developed ones, including the oscillator-based approaches for coherent states and their generalizations. This approach can be straightforwardly extended to construct more general coherent states for the quantum-mechanical potential problems, such as the nonlinear coherent states for the oscillators. The time evolution properties of some of these coherent states show revival and fractional revival, as manifested in the autocorrelation functions, as well as, in the quantum carpet structures.

Generalized coherent states for the Pöschl-Teller potential and a classical limit

M. G. A. Crawford, Edward R. Vrscay

Coherent states in the harmonic oscillator may be defined in several equivalent ways. One definition describes coherent states as special states satisfying a minimum-uncertainty requirement in position and momentum spaces. This definition is generalized for other potentials according to a method developed by Nieto et al. [Phys. Rev. D 20, 1321 (1979)] and is herein applied to the P\"oschl-Teller potential. A classical limit based on the harmonic-oscillator coherent-state classical limit is then developed and applied to the P\"oschl-Teller minimum-uncertainty states. In this limit, classical behavior may be obtained from these quantum states. Together with a completeness argument for the generalized coherent states, this result provides insight into quantum classical correspondence through the statistical interpretation of quantum mechanics.
