Abstract

We investigate the quantum correlation dynamics of two separated continuous variable systems for which, the system comprises a pair of two-level atoms coupled to two cavities. Particularly, we consider two initially separable (non-entangled) states and Werner states which locally interact with two mode entangled coherent fields. We found that the atoms with different quantum correlation significantly affects the dynamics of quantum correlation of the fields, and the entanglement of the atoms can enhance the correlations between the field modes. Finally, we show the effect of the purity of initial states on the correlations between the field modes.

Quantum correlations between each two-level system in a pair of atoms and general coherent fields

S. Abdel‐Khalek, K. Berrada, Sadah Abdullah Alkhateeb

The quantitative description of the quantum correlations between each two-level system in a two-atom system and the coherent fields initially defined in a coherent state in the framework of power-law potentials (PLPCSs) is considered. Specifically, we consider two atoms locally interacting with PLPCSs and take into account the different terms of interactions, the entanglement and quantum discord are studied including the time-dependent coupling and photon transition effects. Using the monogamic relation between the entanglement of formation and quantum discord in tripartite systems, we show that the control and preservation of the different kinds of quantum correlations greatly benefit from the combination of the choice of the physical quantities. Finally, we explore the link between the dynamical behavior of quantum correlations and nonclassicality of the fields with and without atomic motion effect.

Effects of initial environmental correlations in the dynamics of open systems

Zhong‐Xiao Man, Nguyen Ba An, Yun‐Jie Xia

In this work, we study the effects of different forms of correlations of environments on the dynamics of open systems’ entanglement and discord. We consider two two-level atoms A and B interacting, respectively with two spatially separated modes a and b, each of which is in turn surrounded by a dissipative reservoir. The two modes may initially be in an entangled or classically correlated or product state with their marginal state being the same in all the cases. We compare the power of different environmental correlation forms in the revival of the atoms’ entanglement and discord in the strong atom–mode coupling regime. We also show how the dynamical behavior of the atoms’ entanglement and discord nontrivially change by the presence of initial environmental correlation in the weak atom–mode coupling regime. Finally, we reveal that initial entanglement between the modes can induce correlations between initially uncorrelated atoms.

Role of entanglement for nonlocal memory effects

Steffen Wißmann, Heinz‐Peter Breuer

We determine the role of entanglement for nonlocal memory effects induced by initial correlations in a composite environment. The dephasing dynamics of two two-level systems which are coupled locally to an environment consisting of nonlocally correlated field modes is studied with respect to the occurrence of reviving nonlocal coherences. Employing two-mode Gaussian states correlating pairs of modes of the bosonic baths we observe strong nonlocal memory effects in this locally Markovian dynamics for entangled as well as separable quantum states for the environment. We present an explanation for this phenomenon linking it to the correlation coefficient of the environmental coupling operators and derive a necessary and sufficient condition for the occurrence of nonlocal memory effects for sufficiently short interaction times. Finally, we comment on how the magnitude of the nonlocal rephasing may also be used to estimate parameters of the two-mode Gaussian states.

Dynamics of Quantum Correlation in de Sitter Spacetime

Zhiming Huang, Zehua Tian

In this article, we investigate the dynamics of quantum correlation for two atoms interacting with massless scalar field in the background of de Sitter spacetime. We firstly derive the solving process of master equation that governs the system evolution with initial Werner state. Then we discuss the production, revival and decay of quantum correlation for three cases of different initial states: zero-correlation state, non zero-correlation separable state and maximally entangled state. We find that quantum correlation degrades as temperature and the two-atom distance increase. Compared with the sudden death and birth of entanglement, quantum correlation change more smoothly and thus is more robust to decoherence, which can remain stable for long time when two atoms are very close.

Dynamic behavior of the quantum correlations of two cavity fields in the double Jaynes–Cummings model

Yujie Liu, Jingjing Wang, Zheng Li +2 more

Abstract The influence of the atom’s spatial degrees of freedom and the purity of the initial state on the dynamics of Bell non-locality, entanglement, geometric measure of quantum discord (GMQD) and quantum discord in a double Jaynes–Cummings model are investigated. We study the above four quantum correlations for an initial Werner-like state between the electronic states of the two atoms and between the two cavities respectively and find that all these quantum correlations are sensitive to the wave packet width and the purity of the initial state. For Bell non-locality, we find the phenomenon of sudden death and sudden birth, whereas the other three quantum correlations decay to zero asymptotically. We find that both the wave packet width and the purity of the initial state affect the GMQD and quantum discord in a similar way and we also notice that GMQD and quantum discord always exist, except where the purity of the initial state is zero, while Bell non-locality and entanglement can occur only when the purity meets certain conditions.

Effects of inhomogeneous couplings between atoms and a cavity field on entanglement dynamics

Jin‐Liang Guo, Yan Xia, He‐Shan Song

Based on the concept of concurrence, we have investigated the entanglement dynamics of two two-level atoms coupled to a single-mode cavity field with inhomogeneous couplings. We find that, for some initial states, the inhomogeneous couplings not only induce but also enhance the entanglement in the process of its evolution. In addition, considering the intrinsic decoherence proposed by Milburn, we also find that a proper value of inhomogeneous couplings can enhance the stationary entanglement, and as a result, the destructive effect of intrinsic decoherence on entanglement can be moderated by the inhomogeneous couplings.
