Abstract

The dynamics of a cascade three-level atom interacting with the single mode coherent state under the Counter-Rotating-Wave approximation (C-RWA) is investigated. The properties of the mean-photon number (N(t)) and the degree of second-order coherence (g2(t)) are analyzed in this model. The little indentation which represents the quantum noise of the system appears in the evolution curves of the mean-photon number and the degree of second-order coherence under the C-RWA.The quantum noise which is caused by the virtual photon field gradually becomes weak when ω increases. The quantum noise increases when increases. The anti-bunching effect of the system under the C-RWA is stronger than the one under the RWA.Besides, the relation of N(t) and g2(t) with the atom-field coupling constant λ is revealed in our results.

Atomic Population Evolution of the Stimulated Three-Level Atom withoutRotating Wave Approximation

Liu San-qiu

In this paper, the atomic population evolution vs.time in the system of three-level casade atom interacting with a single-mode coherent light field is investigated without rotating wave approximation. The influence of the initial mean photon number n of field,of the atom-field coupling sonstant λ and of the light frequency ω on the atomic population is also discussed. And we compare without rotating wave approximation with rotating wave approximation, and find many differences of the atomic population evolution curves on the identical initial field-strength.It has been shown that because of the influence of the virtual-photon process, the little saw-tooth which represents the quantum noise of the system appear in the evolution curves of thae atomic population of the stimulated radiation field. With the increase of light frequency ω,the quantum noise of the system decreases, and then disappears. And with the increases of the initial field-strength n,the quantum noise of the system increases gradually.Meanwhile, the initial field-strength n and atom-field coupling constant λ influence the oscillation period the quantum collapse-revival of the atomic population evolution curves of stimulated radiation field, too.

Quantum Properties of the Binomial Field Interacting with a Cascade Threelevel Atom Beyond the Rotating Wave Approximation

The squeezing effect and atomic population of the binomial field interacting with a cascade three level atom are calculated accurately without rotating-wave approximation(without RWA) by using the complete quantum theory. The influences of the binomial state field parameter η on the field squeezing effect and the maximum photon number M of the binomial state field on the atomic population are considered. The results obtained from using the numerical method show that with increase of the binomial state field parameter η,the duration of the squeezing effect increases at first and then decreases. The little indentation oscillation appears in the evolution curves of the field squeezing effect, which is caused by virtual photon without RWA.The period of the revival-collapse increases with the increase of the maximum photon number M,and the atomic population can not collapse completely in the collapse regime, but displays little indentation oscillation. In addition the influence of the without-RWA terms on the quantum properties of the system are discussed.

Quantum Entanglement of a Two-Mode Field Interacting with a Cascade Three-level Atom without Rotating Wave Approximation

Cong Hong-l

The quantum entanglement of the two mode coherent field interacting with a cascade three-level atom was calculated accurately with non-rotating wave approximation by using the complete quantum theory. The influences of the superposition between different atomic energy level at the initial time and the mean photon number on quantum entanglement evolution were considered. The results obtained by the numerical method show that the period of the quantum entanglement evolution becomes longer with the increase of the mean photon number when the atom initially at the single energy level, the quantum entanglement at the first few periods is reduced notably due to the fact of the atom is initially in the superposition state,it takes longer time for the entanglement to reach the maximum value with the increase of the mean photon number, moreover, because of the atom is initially in the superposition state, the periodic disappears. No matter which atom state, the quick oscillation due to the virtual photon process increases with the increasing of the mean photon number.

Interaction of a three-level atom Lambda, V, lader with a two-mode field beyond rotating wave approximation: Intermixed intensity-dependent coupling

N. Asili Firouzabadi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Recalling that the rotating wave approximation (RWA) is only valid in the weak coupling regimes, the purpose of this paper is to study the Hamiltonian dynamics describing the full quantum mechanical approach of the interaction between various configurations of three-level atoms Lambda, V and ladder distinctly with a two-mode radiation field, while the RWA is not considered; the counter-rotating terms (CRTs) are taken into account. Generally, the presence of CRTs in the Hamiltonian prevents one to achieve an analytical solution. Moreover, as we will show in the present work, using the perturbation theory, analytical solvable Hamiltonians can be successfully obtained. According to our calculations, the contribution of CRTs within the ordinary Hamiltonian is equivalent to the replacement of the constant detuning with a specific intensity dependent detuning in the first order, and the constant atom field coupling with a particular intensity dependent (f deformed) coupling in the second order of the associated perturbation parameter. Moreover, noticing that according to the initial expression of the Hamiltonian, each mode of the field interacts only with a specific pair of the allowed transitions of each type of the three-level atom, it is surprisingly observed that via applying the mentioned approach, the obtained intensity dependent coupling functions depend on both modes of the field, f(na,nb). In this way, it is seen that the CRTs are removed with the price of arriving at some intermixed intensity dependent atom field coupling functions of the two modes of the field. In this way, the obtained final Hamiltonians are analytically solvable. At last, by determining the time evolution of the atom field wave function, we study the effects of CRTs on a few nonclassical properties of the state of the system, including the atomic population inversion and photon statistics.
