Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics: Coherence in Context

Hideo Mabuchi, Andrew C. Doherty

Modern cavity quantum electrodynamics (cavity QED) illuminates the most fundamental aspects of coherence and decoherence in quantum mechanics. Experiments on atoms in cavities can be described by elementary models but reveal intriguing subtleties of the interplay of coherent dynamics with external couplings. Recent activity in this area has pioneered powerful new approaches to the study of quantum coherence and has fueled the growth of quantum information science. In years to come, the purview of cavity QED will continue to grow as researchers build on a rich infrastructure to attack some of the most pressing open questions in micro- and mesoscopic physics.

Quantum steganography in cavity QED based on the entanglement swapping of any two Bell states

YE Tian-y

In this paper,a novel quantum steganography protocol via cavity quantum electrodynamics(QED)is proposed by using the evolution law of atom in cavity QED,whose hidden capacity is as high as four bits. The proposed protocol builds up a hidden channel to transmit secret messages through the entanglement swapping of any two Bell states in cavity QED.The proposed protocol not only needs no multiparticle quantum entangled state as the quantum resource, but also involves no entanglement swapping or quantum measurement about multiparticle quantum entangled state.Analysis shows that the proposed protocol is able to resist the intercept-resend attack, the measure-resend attack and the entanglemeasure attack,so it has good security.
