Enhancing teleportation of quantum Fisher information by partial measurements

The purport of quantum teleportation is to completely transfer information from one party to another distant partner. However, from the perspective of parameter estimation, it is the information carried by a particular parameter, not the information of total quantum state that needs to be teleported. Due to the inevitable noise in environments, we propose two schemes to enhance quantum Fisher information (QFI) teleportation under amplitude damping noise with the technique of partial measurements. We find that post-partial measurement can greatly enhance the teleported QFI, while the combination of prior partial measurement and post-partial measurement reversal could completely eliminate the effect of decoherence. We show that, somewhat consequentially, enhancing QFI teleportation is more economic than that of improving fidelity teleportation. Our work extends the ability of partial measurements as a quantum technique to battle decoherence in quantum information processing.

Quantum partial coherence measures constructed from Fisher information

Abstract Quantum mechanics gives a new breakthrough to the field of parameter estimation. In the realm of quantum metrology, the precision of parameter estimation is limited by the quantum Fisher information. We introduce the measures of partial coherence based on (quantum) Fisher information by taking into account the post-selective non-unitary parametrization process. These partial coherence measures present a clear operational interpretation by directly linking the coherence to the parameter estimation accuracy. Furthermore, we explore the distinctions between our partial coherence measure and the quantum Fisher information within the context of unitary parametrization. We provide an analytical expression for the partial coherence measure of two-qubit states. We elucidate the operational significance of the partial coherence measures by establishing the connections between the partial coherence measures and quantum state discrimination.

parameters, in the presence of the Unruh effect experienced by a mode of a free Dirac field. We investigate the effects of the partial measurement (PM) and partial measurement reversal (PMR) on the quantum resources and quantum Fisher information (QFI) of the teleported states. In particular, we discuss the optimal behaviour of the QFI, quantum coherence (QC) as well as fidelity with respect to the PM and PMR strength and examine the effect of the Unruh noise on optimal estimation. It is found that, in the single-qubit scenario, the PM (PMR) strength at which the optimal estimation of the phase parameter occurs is the same as the PM (PMR) strength with which the teleportation fidelity and the QC of the teleported single-qubit state reaches its maximum value. On the other hand, generalizing the results to two-qubit teleportation, we find that the encoded information in the weight parameter is better protected against the Unruh noise in two-qubit teleportation than in the one-qubit scenario. However, extraction of information encoded in the phase parameter is more efficient in single-qubit teleportation than in the two-qubit version.
