Abstract

Quantum scattering under gradually varying potential by Utama Yongky thesis 2013 vii, 30 pages ; 30 cm In this work we consider quantum mechanical scattering of a charged particle by a slowly-varying time-dependent potential. By solving the time-dependent Schrödinger’s equation…Read more ›

On the low- and high-frequency limit of quantum scattering by time-dependent potentials

Philippe Martin, Massimiliano Sassoli de Bianchi

Using time-dependent methods, we study the scattering of a quantum mechanical particle by short-range potentials with very slow or very fast periodic variations in time. The low- and high-frequency limits are derived as well as their first non-vanishing corrections, and their physical significance discussed.

One Dimensional Schrodinger Equation With Two Moving Boundaries

Ercan Yilmaz

In this letter, we consider a Schrodinger equation for a well potential with varying width. We solve one dimensional time-dependent Schrodinger equation subject to time-dependent boundary conditions for a spinless particle inside infinite potential well, both wall of which move opposite direction with different velocities v1 and v2, respectively.

Scattering of a charged particle from a hard cylindrical solenoid: Aharonov-Bohm Effect

Oktay Yilmaz

The scattering amplitude of a charged particle from a long hard cylinderical solenoid is derived by solving the time independent Schrödinger equation on a double connected plane. It is a summation over the angular momentum quantum number (partial wave summation). It is shown that only negative mechanical angular momenta contribute to the amplitude when the radius of the solenoid goes to zero limit without varying the magnetic induction flux (Flux line). Original Aharonov-Bohm result is obtained with this limit.
