Abstract

In this paper, the information-theoretic secrecy of the Hoyt fading channel is investigated. The analytical formulae of the outage probability of secrecy capacity in the regime of high SNR and the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity are derived. Both are in terms of the hypergeometric function of two variables (i.e., Appell's function). Profile examples are illustrated.

Probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity of the Weibull fading channel

Xian Liu

In this paper, the information-theoretic secrecy of Weibull fading channels is investigated. The present work generalizes the analysis on Rayleigh fading. Several formulas of the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity are derived. It is shown that in some cases the results can be expressed in terms of a general function, the Meijer G-function. Profile examples are illustrated and discussed.

Secrecy effects of the Rayleigh-Hoyt and Hoyt-Rayleigh fading channels in ground-satellite communications

Xian Liu

Satellite communication plays an important role in the smart city connection project. The Hoyt distribution is used to describe two types of fading in satellite signal transmissions. In this paper, the information-theoretic secrecy of the Rayleigh-Hoyt and Hoyt-Rayleigh fading channels is investigated. A set of exact formulas of the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity are derived. Profile examples are illustrated to show the effects of secrecy capacity.

Outage Probability of Secrecy Capacity over Correlated Log-Normal Fading Channels

Xian Liu

The information-theoretic secrecy of correlated log-normal fading channels is investigated. A closed-form expression is derived for the asymptotic outage probability of secrecy capacity in the high SNR regime. It is revealed that the increased correlation may reduce the outage probability under certain condition.

On the outage probability of secrecy capacity in arbitrarily-distributed fading channels

Juan Manuel Romero Jerez, Gerardo Gómez, F. Javier López‐Martínez

We present a general and compact framework for the analysis of the wireless information-theoretic security of arbitrarily-distributed fading channels. We show that performance metrics such as the outage probability of the secrecy capacity, the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity and the e-outage secrecy capacity can be compactly expressed in terms of the moment generating function (MGF) of the fading models. Using this approach, we can study the effect of considering different propagation conditions for the legitimate and eavesdropper's fading links, which accommodate to many practical scenarios.

Strictly positive secrecy capacity of log-normal fading channel with multiple eavesdroppers

Xian Liu

In this paper, we investigate the information-theoretic secrecy for the log-normal fading channel. In particular, we derive the closed-form expressions of the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity for two wireless communication systems, with two and three eavesdroppers, respectively. These expressions are in terms of the well-known T-function and S-function.

Average secrecy capacity of the Weibull fading channel

Xian Liu

In this paper, the information-theoretic secrecy of Weibull fading channels is investigated. The present work is a generalization of the analysis on Rayleigh fading. This paper focuses on the scenario that the channel state information is available to the legitimate transmitter. The cases of single and multiple eavesdroppers are discussed. Several formulas of the average secrecy capacity are derived. Profile examples are illustrated and discussed.
