Abstract

Quantum information processing experimentally depends on optical-electronic devices. In this paper, we consider quantized mesoscopic RLC (resistance, inductance and capacitance) electric circuit in stable case as a quantum statistical ensemble, and calculate energy distribution (i.e. the energy stored in inductance and capacitance as well as the energy consumed on the resistance). For this aim, we employ the technique of integration within ordered product (IWOP) of operator to derive the thermo-vacuum state for this mesoscopic system, with which ensemble average energy calculation is replaced by evaluating expected value in pure state. This approach is concise and the result we deduced is physically appealling.

Entropy-variation with resistance in a quantized RLC circuit derived by the generalized Hellmann–Feynman theorem

Fan Hong-Yi, Xue-xiang Xu, Liyun Hu

By virtue of the generalized Hellmann–Feynman theorem for the ensemble average, we obtain the internal energy and average energy consumed by the resistance R in a quantized resistance–inductance–capacitance (RLC) electric circuit. We also calculate the entropy-variation with R. The relation between entropy and R is also derived. By the use of figures we indeed see that the entropy increases with the increment of R.

Quantum fluctuations in mesoscopic resistance- inducatance-capacitance electric circuits at finite temperature

Xian-Ting Liang, Fan Hong-Yi

By using the charge and current in a quantization resistance-inductance-capacitance (RLC) electric circuit, we construct a pair of canonical variables. Using this pair of variables and the thermal field dynamics, we obtain the fluctuations of charge and current in the RLC electric circuit at finite temperatures. It is shown that the fluctuations increase with increasing temperature and decrease with prolonging of time.

Quantum Wavefunctions and Fluctuations of Mesoscopic RLC Circuit

Ji‐Suo Wang, Tang-Kun Liu, Mingsheng Zhan

The quantum wavefunctions and the corresponding energy levels of a RLC (Resistance-Inductance-Capacity) electric circuit are obtained by using canonical quantization method and unitary transformation from the classical equation of motion. The quantum fluctuations of charge and current in an arbitrary eigenstate of the system have also been given as well as the uncertainty relation. It is showed that even if at 0 K charge and current in the circuit exhibit quantum fluctuations, which originates from fluctuations of zero point vibrations of the system.

Quantization of the generalized mesoscopic RLC parallel circuit and its quantum fluctuations in vacuum state

YI Shi-guang

The quantization of the generalized mesoscopic RLC parallel circuit, the quantum fluctuations of the current and the voltage of each branch in vacuum state were studied. The influences on the quantum fluctuations of the dissipative resistances in the inductance and capacitance branches were discussed. The results show that the quantum fluctuations in each branch are related to the parameters of the elements and decay with time. The quantum fluctuations in the two branches are influenced by the dissipative resistances both in the decaying factor and in the coefficients. They have the same behavior in the decaying factor but having difference in the coefficients. The quantum fluctuations of the voltage are affected by the dissipative resistances in the two branches, but the quantum fluctuations of the current are not affected by them when the values of the two dissipative resistances are same.

QUANTIZATION FOR THE MESOSCOPIC RLC CIRCUIT AND ITS THERMAL EFFECT BY VIRTUE OF GHFT

Bao‐Long Liang, Ji‐Suo Wang, Xiang‐Guo Meng

The mesoscopic single RLC (resistance-inductance-capacitance) circuit and the RLC circuit including complicated coupling are quantized by employing Dirac's standard canonical quantization method. The thermal effects for the systems are investigated by virtue of GHFT (the generalized Hellmann–Feynman theorem). The results distinctly show the effect of temperature on the quantum fluctuation.
