Are information, cognition and the principle of existence intrinsically structured in the quantum model of reality?

Abstract

The thesis of this paper is that Information, Cognition and a Principle of Existence are intrinsically structured in the quantum model of reality. We reach such evidence by using the Clifford algebra. We analyze quantization in some traditional cases of quantum mechanics and, in particular in quantum harmonic oscillator, orbital angular momentum and hydrogen atom.

What is The Reason to Use Clifford Algebra in Quantum Cognition? Part II: Information, Cognition and the Principle of Existence are Intrinsically Structured in the Quantum Model of Reality

Elio Conte

The thesis of this paper is that Information, Cognition and a Principle of Existence are intrinsically structured in the quantum model of reality. There is an intrinsic “factor of knowledge” that supports its structure. We reach such evidence by using the Clifford algebra. In detail we analyze quantization in some traditional cases of interest in quantum mechanics and, in particular, in quantum harmonic oscillator, orbital angular momentum and hydrogen atom. We adopt the basic von Neumann results that projection operators represent logical statements and we demonstrated that are intrinsically structured in the cases of quantization that are taken in consideration. Introduction to spin

Giampiero V. M. Esposito, Giuseppe Marmo, Gennaro Miele +1 more

First, the experimental foundations for the existence of a new dynamical variable, the spin of particles, are presented. The Pauli equation is then derived in detail, two applications are given and the energy levels of a particle with spin in a constant magnetic field are studied. This is the analysis of Landau levels, which can be performed by using the known results on the spectrum of harmonic oscillators. In this chapter we also study in detail the addition of orbital angular momentum and spin, as well as the spin–orbit interaction with the resulting Thomas precession. Stern-Gerlach experiment and electron spin The hypothesis that the electron has an intrinsic magnetic moment and an angular momentum, in short a spin , was first suggested in Uhlenbeck and Goudsmit (1926). They noticed, even before the discovery of quantum mechanics, that a complete description of spectra was not possible unless a magnetic moment and a mechanical moment were ascribed to the electron, and hence the concept of an electron as a point charge was insufficient. First, let us therefore try to understand how a magnetic moment can be associated to an atomic system. For this purpose, consider for simplicity the Bohr model of an hydrogen atom, where the electron moves along a circular orbit and rotates with orbital angular momentum L .

Quantum Cognition: A New Demonstration of Quantum Collapse Using Mathematical Formulation of Quantum Mechanics by using Clifford Algebra.

Elio Conte

Starting with 2010 we gave demonstration of Von Neumann postulates of measurements in quantum mechanics by using Clifford algebra. In this paper we give proof by adding a further demonstration following our previous results on the logical origins of quantum mechanics and on the algebraic nature of mental entities intended as abstract elements of Clifford algebra

Information and Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics

Marcin Ostrowski

This work is a discussion on the concept of information. We define here information as an abstraction that is able to be copied. We consider the connection between the process of copying information in quantum systems and the emergence of the so-called classical realism. The problem of interpretation of quantum mechanics in this context is discussed as well.
