Abstract

We present an analytical solution for Fokker–Planck equation of phase-mismatched frequency non-degenerated optical parametric amplifier (FNOPA). We investigate the continuous-variable (CV) tripartite entanglement characteristic of FNOPA working at phase-matched and phase-mismatched condition. From below threshold to above threshold, we numerically calculate the dependence of CV tripartite entanglement on relative loss parameter η and phase-mismatched factor Δω. The larger η and the smaller Δω can bring a good entanglement.

We present a new analytical solution for Fokker–Planck equation of phase-mismatched frequency non-degenerate optical parametric amplifier (FNOPA). We investigate the squeezing and continuous variable (CV) entanglement characteristic of a FNOPA working at phase-mismatched condition. We numerically calculate the dependence of the CV entanglement on the relative loss parameter ξ and the phase-mismatched parameter η~. The smaller η~ can bring a long-time entanglement. This method can also be applied to multipartite entanglement situation.

The influence of pump depletion on multipartite continuous-variable entanglement in a frequency non-degenerate parametric amplifier

Chao Zhao, W.H. Tan

The multipartite continuous variable (CV) entanglement characteristic of a frequency non-degenerate optical parametric amplification (FNOPA) system was investigated for the case when pump depletion is considered. The multipartite CV entanglement depends on the pump parameter, μ, the squeezed parameter, r, and particle number, N. Larger values of pump parameter μ and particle number N result in a very small variance, , and a long-term entanglement.

Multipartite continuous-variable entanglement in a multi-mode period pumping non-degenerate optical parametric amplifier

Chao Zhao

The multipartite continuous-variable (CV) entanglement characteristic of a multi-mode phased-locked period pumping non-degenerate optical parametric amplification system was investigated for the case when finite bandwidth is considered. A continuously modulated pumping with a sinusoidal envelope can produce an improvement in the minimum values of the multipartite CV entanglement. The minimum variances can be described approximately by the linear theory formula 1/(1+μ). We should take a proper bandwidth Δω in order to obtain a long-term entanglement. The larger values of pump parameter μ and particle number N result in long-term entanglement.

Quantum travelling-wave analysis of a quasi-phase-matched parametric amplifier

Chao Zhao, W. H. Tan

The paper describes a phase-mismatched Fokker–Planck equation formulation for parametric amplification in periodically inverted nonlinear media. An analytical solution of the phase-mismatched Fokker–Planck equation and the amplitude quantum fluctuation after passing through the quasi-phase-matched (QPM) device are obtained. The calculated results for the QPM device conform to that of the Langevin equation in the case of no loss k=0, and give a general solution for k≠0. From this one can derive knowledge of the dependence of squeezing on the loss coefficient k and make a comparison between the QPM device and a phase matched device at the threshold k=ε0.

Tripartite continuous-variable entanglement of NOPA system

Chao Zhao, Chengmei Zhang

We investigate the fundamental limits to the achievable tripartite continuous-variable (CV) entanglement criterion of a generalized V 1 criterion. Our numerical simulation results show that the non-degenerate eigenvalues do effect the performances of the estimated minimum variances. From below the threshold to above the threshold, with the increase of the pump parameter, the tripartite CV entanglement gradually disappears. The different off-diagonal elements seriously distort the weights for entanglement. We can obtain a good tripartite CV entanglement by appropriately controlling the values of off-diagonal elements ε ij .

Tripartite entanglement in a detuned non-degenerate optical parametric oscillator

Jun Guo, Jianfeng Tian, Hengxin Sun

Abstract Continuous variable multipartite entanglement is an important resource in quantum optics and quantum information. Non-degenerate optical parametric oscillator (NOPO), generally working in a resonant regime, can generate high quality tripartite entanglement. However, the detuning in a real experiment is inevitable and sometimes necessary, for instance, in an optomechanical system. We calculate the tripartite entanglement from a detuned triply quasi-resonant NOPO. Unlike the previous literature using inseparability criterion, we use the positivity of partial transpose, a sufficient and necessary criterion, to characterize the tripartite entanglement with full inseparability generated from a detuned NOPO. We also consider the influence of the pump and signal/idler losses on the tripartite entanglement. The results show that, the tripartite entanglement could exist even with a large detuning of several times cavity linewidth, and may be better for a detuned regime than for the resonant one under some conditions. With a fixed non-zero loss which always exists in a real experiment, an appropriate value of non-zero detuning could lead to the best entanglement. What’s more, unlike the bipartite entanglement, which exists both below and above threshold, the tripartite entanglement only occurs for a nonzero classical amplitude of signal/idler field. The jumping between the tripartite and bipartite entanglement could make the NOPO become a quantum state switch element, which promises a potential application on the multiparty quantum secret sharing.
