Abstract

The spin 3/2 transverse Ising model with anisotropic crystal field on honeycomb lattice (z=3) has been studied by using the effective field theory with correlations. The general expressions for evaluating the second order phase transition temperatures are obtained. The results show that both the transverse field and crystal field have important effects on the phase diagram of the Ising system. The transition temperatures do not always fall to zero when Ω/|J|0 457. They approach a constant value 0 525 for large negative D(D→-∞) without transverse field (Ω=0). On the other hand, it is shown that all phase transformations are second order.

Effect of a crystal field on phase transitions in a spin-1 transverse Ising model

Within an effective-field approximation, general expressions for evaluating the second-order phase-transition line and tricritical point of the spin-1 transverse Ising model with the presence of a crystal field are obtained with the Honmura-Kaneyoshi differential-operator technique. The phase diagrams and the behavior of the tricritical point are investigated numerically for the honeycomb lattice.

Ground-State Phase Diagram of Transverse Spin-2 Ising Model with Longitudinal Crystal-Field

Jie Zhao, Guozhu Wei, XU Xing-guang

The transverse spin-2 Ising ferromagnetic model with a longitudinal crystal-field is studied within the mean-field theory based on Bogoliubov inequality for the Gibbs free energy. The ground-state phase diagram and the tricritical point are obtained in the transverse field Ω/zJ-longitudinal crystal D/zJ field plane. We find that there are the first order-order phase transitions in a very small range of D/zJ besides the usual first order-disorder phase transitions and the second order-disorder phase transitions.

Wei Jiang, Guo Zhu, Zi‐Hua Xin

The properties of the ground state in spin-3/2 transverse Ising model with the presence of a crystal field are studied by using the effective-field theory with correlations. Phase Transition for a Mixed Spin-$\frac12$ and Spin- s B System with a Transverse Crystal Field

Jiang Wei, Xiao Gui-Bin, Guozhu Wei +2 more

The critical behaviors of a mixed spin- and spin- s B Ising system with a transverse crystal field are studied by use of the effective-field theory with correlations. The effect of the transverse crystal field on transition temperatures is investigated numerically for the honeycomb ( z = 3) and square ( z = 4) lattices. The results show that there is no tricritical point for the system.

The ground-state phase transition study of the transverse high-spin Ising model with different single-ion anisotropies

XU Xing-guang

The transverse high-spin Ising model with different single-ion anisotropies is studied in the ground state within the mean-field theory and the correlated effective-field theory. The expressions of magnetization and energy in the finite temperature and ground state are derived and the results are got numerically. The ground-state phase diagram is obtained within the mean-field theory, and the ground-state phase diagrams for the honeycomb lattice, the square lattice and the simple cubic lattice are gained, respectively, within the correlated effective theory. The focus of this paper is on the difference of phase transition properties within the mean-field theory and the correlated effective-field theory.
