Abstract

The antibunching effects of the photon in the competing 3-and 1-photon transitions model are studied by means of quantum theory, and the influences of the relative competing strength between the atom and the two-mode field and the initial photon of the field on the second-order correlation function are discussed. It shows that the increase of the relative competing strength and the initial photon can lead to shortening the duration of antibunching effects of the photon. On the other hand, the hoton antibunching effect decreases with the increase of the initial photon of the field.

The Statistic Properties of Photon in the Two-mode Competition Model

Qin Wu

The statistic properties of photon in the two-mode competition model are studied from the perspective of quantum theory, and the influence of relative competing strength between the atom and the two-mode field on the statistic properties of photon is discussed. The results of numerical calculations indicate that the photon antibunching of the two-mode field appears periodically. On the other hand, the correlation of the two modes of light is aluays negative and this kind of correlation is non-classical in most of the time.

We have studied antibunching effects in a system where a two level atom interacts with a single mode field surrounded by a Kerr like medium in a high Q cavity through two photon transition, particularly shown the influence of the coupling constant between a Kerr like medium and field, detuning on antibunching under different initial atomic states.

Antibunching Effect of Field with a Time-varying Frequency in the Multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings Model

LU Dao-ming

Using the multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model, the antibunching effect of the field in the system of a two-level atom interacting with the single mode coherent field through mutiphoton transition is studied. The frequency of the field varying with time in the form of sine is considered. The influences of amplitude and angular frequency of the field-frequency variation on the antibunching effect of the field are discussed by numerical calculations.Calculation results indicate that the time-evolution behavior of second-order correlation function is modulated by the field-frequency variation. The modulation intensity is enchanced as the amplitude u of field-frequency variation increases, and when the amplitude u of field-frequency variation is larger than a fixed value the time-evolution of second-order correlation function will display periodic oscillation behavior. Its oscillation frequency is in agreement with the angular frequency of field-frequency variation. The antibunching effect of field decreases as the amplitude u of field-frequency variation increases.

Study of Photon Antibunching in the Vacuum Field Two-photon Jaynes-Cummings Model Without the Rotating-wave Approximation

Xie Ruihua, Gong-ou Xu, Liu Dunhuan

We have numerically investigated photon antibunching in the two-photon Jaynes-Cummings model without the rotating-wave approximation when the system is restricted to the following initial condition: the atom in the excited state and the field in the vacuum state. The influence of the detuning Δ on photon antibunching has also been discussed.

The entanglement and second-order coherence function in a two-atom nonlinear Jaynes-Cummings model

Chuan Mo, Kai Xu, Guo‐Feng Zhang

Abstract The influence of the Kerr nonlinearity on the two two-level atoms entanglement is investigated in Jaynes–Cummings model (JCM), so that one of atoms is inside the cavity field and the other atom is outside it. We show that the entanglement of atoms increases with the decrease of the phase decoherence rate or Kerr coefficient, when considering the effect of external environment. Then due to the statistic properties of the anti-bunching effect of photons are related to entanglement, the nonlinear JCM is examined theoretically to analyze the bunching or anti-bunching effect by using the second-order coherence function. We find that the second-order coherence function decreases with the Kerr coefficient. Our results show that the field reflects the stronger bunching effect with the bigger average photon number.

Atomic dynamics in the mode–mode competition system

Qin Wu, Mao-Fa Fang

The atomic dynamical properties in the system with competing k -photon and l -photon transitions are studied fully by means of quantum theory. We discuss the influences of the mode–mode competition, the relative competing strengths of the atom and the two-mode field and the initial state of the system on the atomic dynamics. We show that the presence of the mode–mode competition can result in quite a periodical collapses-revivals of the atomic inversion and the increase of the initial photons of the system can lead to the collapse–revival phenomenon and prolong the revival time of the atomic inversion.
