Abstract

The atomic dynamical properties in the system with competing k -photon and l -photon transitions are studied fully by means of quantum theory. We discuss the influences of the mode–mode competition, the relative competing strengths of the atom and the two-mode field and the initial state of the system on the atomic dynamics. We show that the presence of the mode–mode competition can result in quite a periodical collapses-revivals of the atomic inversion and the increase of the initial photons of the system can lead to the collapse–revival phenomenon and prolong the revival time of the atomic inversion.

Quantum Collapse and Revival of Atom in Mode-Mode Competing System

WuQin, FANGMao-Fa

The atomic inversion dynamics in the mode-mode competing system is studied by means of fully quantum theory. A general solution to the Schrodinger equation of this system is obtained. The influence of the relative competing strength between the atom and the two-mode field on the atomic inversion is disccussed. We show that the presence of the mode-mode competition can result in periodical collapses-revivals of the atomic inversion.

Atom–photon entanglement in the system with competingk-photon andl-photon transitions

Qin Wu, Mao-Fa Fang, Yao-Hua Hu

We have investigated the evolution of the atomic quantum entropy and the entanglement of atom–photon in the system with competing k -photon and l -photon transitions by means of fully quantum theory, and examined the effects of competing photon numbers ( k and l ), the relative coupling strength between the atom and the two-mode field ( λ/g ), and the initial photon number of the field on the atomic quantum entropy and the entanglement of atom–photon. The results show that the multiphoton competing transitions or the large relative coupling strength can lead to the strong entanglement between atoms and photons. The maximal atom–photon entanglement can be prepared via the appropriate selection of system parameters and interaction time.

The Statistic Properties of Photon in the Two-mode Competition Model

Qin Wu

The statistic properties of photon in the two-mode competition model are studied from the perspective of quantum theory, and the influence of relative competing strength between the atom and the two-mode field on the statistic properties of photon is discussed. The results of numerical calculations indicate that the photon antibunching of the two-mode field appears periodically. On the other hand, the correlation of the two modes of light is aluays negative and this kind of correlation is non-classical in most of the time.

Time Evolution of Atomic Occupancy in the Two-photon T-C Model via Intensity-dependent Coupling

Fang Jia-Yuan, Huang Chun-Jia, Xiao Fu-liang +1 more

The time evolution of atomic occupancy for the system of squeezed vacuum field interacting with two coupling atoms via intensity-dependent coupling in two-photon transition are investigated. The influences of the atomic initial state, the interaction between atoms and the initial squeezed parameter of field on the atomic occupancy are discussed. The results show that periodical collapse-revival phenomenon of the time evolution of atomic occupancy appears, which is caused by the influence of the dipole-dipole interaction between atoms. The periods of the collapse-revival shortens till the collapse-revival disappears while increasing the interaction between atoms. The amplitude of oscillations decreases in increasing the initial squeezed parameter of field.

Time-evolution of the Atom's Occupancy of Atoms in Bell States Interacting with the Two-mode Entangled Coherent Field via Two-photon Process

Yongping Li

The time-evolution of the atom′s occupancy in the system of two-mode entangled coherent fields interacting with two atoms in Bell states via two-photon process is investigated by means of quantum theory. The results show that the atom′s occupancy is zero if the two atoms are initially in Bell state |β11.If the two atoms are initially in the other three Bell states, the oscillation frequency of the atom′s occupancy accelerates and the amplitude decreases apparently with the increase of mean photon numbers of field. The degree of the entanglement for the entangled coherent fields can′t influence the oscillation frequency and the position of the atom′s occupancy curve. If the two atoms are initially in Bell state |β01,the Rabi oscillation frequency of the atom′s occupancy accelerates apparently with the increase of the coupling strength of interaction between atoms. While the two atoms are initially in Bell state |β10 or |β00,the collapse-revival phenomenon of the atom′s occupancy disappears gradually.
