Abstract

A quantum key distribution scheme using EPR pairs between two parties is proposed.In this scheme,Alice and Bob measure the state using Bell base and operate it using R(θ) for checking eavesdroppers during distributing the key.It is more efficient in that one uses all EPR pairs except those chosen for checking eavesdroppers.As the key,it can be proved to be secure.

EFFICIENT QUANTUM KEY DISTRIBUTION SCHEME USING THE BELL STATE MEASUREMENT

In this paper we provide a quantum key distribution (QKD) scheme based on the correlations of Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) pairs. The scheme uses an auxiliary qubit to interact with the EPR pair and does the Bell state measurement to get the key. It is proved to be secure. All EPR pairs are used in distributing the key except some error-checking bits. So it is efficient. On the other hand there are less classical communications needed in the scheme.

Theoretically efficient high-capacity quantum-key-distribution scheme

Quantum key distribution based on entanglement swapping

Entanglement swapping between EPR pairs can be used to generate the same sequence of random bits in two remote places. A quantum key distribution protocol based on this idea is described. The scheme exhibits the following features: (a) It improves the rate of generated bits for transmitted qubit. (b) It allows Alice and Bob to generate a key of arbitrary length using a single quantum system (three EPR pairs), instead of a long sequence of them. (c) Detecting Eve requires the comparison of fewer bits. (d) Entanglement is an essential ingredient. The scheme assumes reliable measurements of the Bell operator.
